Today we had distinguished visitors of the school ship "Danmark".
This proud ship was build in 1932 and serves as a maritime college and training ship.
It replaced the old training ship "København" which disappeared one december day in 1928, when on a journey from Buenos Aires, in Argentina - to Adelaide, Australia. The entire crew of 14 crew members and 45 students, presumed to have perished.

In Allégade between Kronborgvej and the gate to the former Helsingør Shipyard, stands Mads Holm's memorial column. The bronze figure on top is by sculptor Einar Utzon-Frank and depicts a stylized 16th-century galeon surrounded by gilded, leaping dolphins. The granite column originates from the old Christiansborg Castle.
