ROSKILDE (Dinamarca): Webers Gård e Wilhelm Topps Minde.

ARoS, one of Northern Europe’s largest museums, is renowned for its impressive collection of modern and contemporary art. While its most iconic feature, the Rainbow Panorama by Olafur Eliasson, still draws significant attention with its circular, colored glass walkway offering a unique view of Aarhus, there are also other captivating spaces within the museum. One of these includes rooms with vibrant glass constructions that create dynamic lighting effects and fascinating reflections. These installations provide intriguing opportunities for photography, allowing me to capture abstract compositions and play with the interplay of color and light—equally as mesmerizing as the rooftop panorama - Aarhus, Denmark

The tower of the Helligaandskirken (Church of the Holy Spirit) in Copenhagen, photographed during the winter, combines a red brick base, typical of northern European architecture, with a gray-green upper structure and a Baroque-influenced belfry visible on the façade. Highlights include the golden dial clock in the central section and the copper-plated dome. Located in the heart of the Danish capital's historic center, the church is one of the oldest in the city, having originally been part of a 13th century hospital complex and adapted for Lutheran worship in the 16th century. After a fire in 1728, it was rebuilt and consecrated in 1732.

A little over a month ago, while we were still in Copenhagen, I posted a morning shot from Nyhavn. Today, I’m sharing another image from the very same spot, but this time a wider panoramic view. It’s actually a panorama made by merging four individual images. While I feel the previous shot has a slight edge, I still think this one captures Nyhavn’s postcard-worthy charm.

Nyhavn, located near Copenhagen’s old harbor, was built in the 17th century to ease congestion in the city’s older port. Over time, it evolved from a bustling commercial hub to a red-light district, and eventually into the colorful and charming tourist destination we know today. While the restaurants here tend to be touristy with overpriced, average food, Nyhavn remains a must-visit when you’re in Copenhagen.

This is a photo I took in July 2015 during the construction of the Iceberg Project in Aarhus. Since then, the Iceberg has become a landmark in the city’s revitalized harbor area. Its sharp, angular design, resembling floating icebergs, was crafted to maximize sunlight and views of the waterfront. Today, it's an iconic example of modern Danish architecture, blending striking visuals with functionality, and perfectly reflecting the maritime vibe of its surroundings - Aarhus, Denmark

Street Photography Copenhagen 27/10 2016 - The new bridge in Copenhagen harbour for pededistrians and biking people.

Cirkelbroen (The Circle Bridge) connects the areas around Copenhagen Harbour

In august 2015, the pedestrian bridge Cirkelbroen opened for public use. Here, it makes everyday life easier for Copenhagen’s biking commuters as it connects Copenhagen area Christiansbro and Appelbys Plads. The bridge consists of five differently sized circular platforms, each with its own mast, and it is from these circular platforms, the name of the bridge arises.

Besides the obvious functional benefit of the harbour’s new architectural landmark, the beautiful design with the five masts resembles a ship by the quay as a reference to Copenhagen’s shipping history.

Cirkelbroen encourages bicycles and pedestrians to reduce their speed and just take a small break, but on a larger scale, the circle refers to the circle drawn by inner city of Copenhagen, which the bridge helps to complete by connecting the Christiansbro area to Appelbys Plads.

Behind the design of the bridge is world-renowned and award-winning Danish-Islandic Olafur Eliasson. During his career as an artist, he has held solo exhibitions in Copenhagen, New York and Berlin among many other places, and of course, he has made many installations, artworks and architectural design all over the world, now including Cirkelbroen.

Captured in Copenhagen’s iconic Nyhavn district, this image distills the charm of Danish harbour life. The colorful gabled houses glow like pastels under a brooding sky, while boats rest quietly on the calm canal. The bustling promenade, filled with umbrellas and lively cafés, brings vibrant life into the frame. A photo of contrasts – between light and dark, past and present, serenity and motion.

In Copenhagen, the historic Lille Kirkestræde street leads to the old St. Nicholas Church (Sankt Nikolaj Kirke), founded in the 13th century and rebuilt over the centuries. Severely damaged in the fire of 1795, only the imposing tower remained, which was restored in the early 20th century. The church no longer serves a religious function and, since 1957, has established itself as a center for contemporary art, the Nikolaj Kunsthal, a stage for experimental Danish and international works. The structure, which combines late Gothic elements with Renaissance influences, stands out for its red brick tower with a distinctive neo-baroque dome in oxidized copper, 90 meters high.

The last one of these '8 House' manipulations, I know that such 'Digital Art' is not exactly to everyones taste (at least the limited number of views the others have had would seem to indicate that anyway).

Detail of the Niagara building, Malmö University, designed by the Danish architectural firm Lundgaard & Tranberg (2009), built in 2012-2015.

A couple of days ago I was complaining that when I visited 8 Tallet in Orestad that the weather was pretty rubbish, having worked on the shots a bit now I think the ominous grey cloud adds a certain something to some of them. Here the steely grey sky is a great match for the aluminium cladding.

Solvang is a city in Santa Barbara County, California, United States. The city is home to a number of bakeries, restaurants, and merchants offering a taste of Denmark in California. The architecture of many of the facades and buildings reflects traditional Danish style, as can be seen from the shot above.

The Aarhus City Hall was completed in 1941 and designed by architects Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller.

So this is the second house in my series of modern villas that hopefully will pop up.

Design;

When i where designing this i wanned an pretty clean look, but still detaild, pretty hard too reach that gool ;)

so i thought of MANY diffrent designs, first of i thought of Dk-green windows and curves, then i decided too make it like this, flat.

So this is actully my first flat-roof living house ever, and i think i did catch an modern feeling. I where also looking for an "Energy-saving" feeling, wish resulted in for example, roof windows wish increase the use of lamps an so reduse the use of electricity, and the Smarts-car just added the perfect end.

I hope you like it as much as i do ;)

I was very really looking forward to photographing 'The Mountain', one of BIG Architects most iconic buildings in Orestad, Copenhagen. It didn't disappoint and although conditions weren't great with weak sunlight being filtered through a thin layer of cloud I got shots I'm really happy with. More to follow.

From Wikipedia : "Mountain Dwellings (Danish: Bjerget) is an award-winning building in the Ørestad district of Copenhagen, Denmark, consisting of apartments above a multi-storey car park. The building is designed by Danish architectural practice Bjarke Ingels Group. The apartments are scaling the diagonally sloping roof of the parking garage, from street level to 11th floor, creating an artificial, southfacing 'mountainside'. Each apartment has a "backyard" on the roof of the in-front, lower-level apartment. The resulting courtyard penthouses are an attempt to balance "the splendours of the suburban backyard with the intensity of an urban lifestyle". Throughout the building, it plays on a mountain metaphor as well as the clash between the urban vibe of the interior parking space as well as the surroundings and the peaceful and organic hillside."

"The northern and western facades of the parking garage depict a 3,000 m² photorealistic mural of Himalyan peaks. The parking garage is protected from wind and rain by huge shiny aluminium plates, perforated to let in light and allow for natural ventilation. By controlling the size of the holes, the sheeting were transformed into the giant rasterized image of Mount Everest. The picture is based on a photo commissioned from a Japanese Himalaya photographer, though it had to be stretched to fit the proportions of the site."
