The day was Daniel`s graduation ceremony of kindergarten.
Since Daniel told us the date of it we have been awaiting for more than one month.
Whole my family were so excited to look forward to the arrival of this day.
It`s not only a milestone to Daniel but also an meaning event to us.
I got off duty earlier than usual just because
I would like to take pictures of him wearing the graduated dressing before the ceremony begin.
Doubtless there would be no chance for me to take the shot slowly in the process, I thought.
As you could see below that I asked cooperations from each of his classmates and teachers to have a picture with Daniel.
Fortunately, it didn`t cost me much effort because when I arrived the class they were together waiting for the opening.
I might be the first guest to them, so all children were very interested about me.
Meanwhile, Daniel seemd to be proud of introducing me to his classmates, then I became popular right away.
After asking the permision from the teacher in present, I led all kids to have pictures with Daniel.
It was very funny that when I begged them to have a shot with Daniel one by one, they automatically lined up.
If you were there to see such amusing situation, I bet you certainly couldn`t stop to laugh.
When I looked at their smile through my camera in each shot, something really touched my heart deeply.
I seemd to dip into their world and became the partial element of their happiness.
Probably it could be said that the interaction between us leading some chemical changes inside my body and acting my cells.
Although I had already experienced one day long work, at the moment I felt extremely energentic.
Well, I should attribute it to those innocent and cute kids.

Daniel Hogmire died at his home in Arlington on the evening of February 25, 1884, aged nearly seventy-two years. Mr. Hogmire was one of the very frst settlers of Arlington township, having moved to this county in 1835. He first located and for a number of years lived on the farm now owned by B. B. Stimpson, opposite M. H. Hogmire's but subsequently disposing of this place, he moved to his late homestead, where he has resided for thirty-three years. During this time he had built for himself a beautiful home, surrounded by the comforts of life, the reward of long years of industry and cconomny. He was never known as a practical, successful farmer, and although his home and farm bore marks of substantial and permanent improvements, his taste was more of mechanism, in his younger days being classed as one of the best mechanics (carpenters and joiners) in the country, many monuments of his skill and handicraft still remaining as evidence of his workmanship. His family consisted of a wife, three sons and a daughter, all of whom survived him and now mourn the loss of a kind husband and indulgent father. The funeral services were conducted from the family residence, Elder J. H. Reese officiating, after which the remains were placed in the Arlington cemetery.

Son of Daniel
Obituary from the Bangor Advance 5/3/1928:
In the passing of Milan Hogmire, Bangor loses one of it's pioneers. His parents were among the earliest settlers coming from New York when the country was a wilderness, abounding in deer and other wild animals.
Milan E. Hogmire was born in Arlington township, Dec. 17th, 1848, and died April 27, 1928. He was the fourth of six children born to Daniel and Henrietta Waugh Hogmire. He grew up on the farm he owned at the time of his death. After attending school in Lawrence and Decatur he began teaching. He taught winters and worked on the farm summers. In March of 1879 he married Alice Timms of Hillsdale, Michigan.
For thirty years he was a traveling salesman in Wisconsin being familiar with every town in the state retiring in 1917. Since then he turned his attention to his farm, putting in modern improvements, in which he took great pride. He was a man of strong convictions, honest and upright, interested to the last in the affairs of the day. He was very fond of children and in turn was loved by them. He was a kind and indulgent father, a very thoughtful and loving husband.
He was a member of Coffinbury Lodge, No. 204 and the DeWitt Clinton Consistory. He joined the Bangor Lodge in February, 1874.

Born in 1963 in a rural town in Maine, Daniel Merriam taught himself to paint at a very young age. He went on to study mechanical and architectural design at Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute and, while still in school, applied his newfound skills to his family’s design and construction business. Merriam turned to the field of architectural design professionally, where his illustrations received numerous awards, including an Honorary Masters of Human Letters from the University of New England in recognition of the potential social contribution of his work. In 1986, Merriam shifted his focus solely to fine art, and later that year had his first solo exhibition. Since then, his exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe have been lauded and achieved critical acclaim. The hallmark of Merriam’s work is his boundless imagination that weaves together a world that is both fantastic and rooted in the beauty of the Victorian age. His paintings hung next to those of Salvador Dali in a museum show entitled Venus and the Female Intuition, and traveled through Denmark, Sweden and France in 2007 and 2008.
