Post card for the Mix Morning Show. I normally listened to Mix 97.3 (Now Kiss 97.3 FM) while in high school. Most of my high school days featured this duo in the morning. Burke was a funny guy. He needed a babysitter for his girlfriend at the time. My sister, Nicki, was the babysitter. She also babysat for another employee of the station, "Dangerboy."
I had the pleasure of shooting for the cabaret/burlesque/sideshow performance 'mind over mind over matter' ... Amazing talent, amazing show.
(Thomas Hawk makes a good point here, and here, but... essentially he says:
"I want to bring attention to the fact we do have a right to shoot in public," he said. "Most photographers when a security guard says you can’t take that photo, they simply comply. We miss a lot of beauty in the world because photographers feel intimidated.")
would u believe it? a security guard actually tried to stop me as i was shooting this. I had to hint to him... "but this is a public display... right?"
And then he had to say that this display was ok - "but u can't shoot the rest of the building without permission"
Altogether now!! (to the tune of MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This":)
U can't shoot this! (duh... duh-duh-duh... duh.. duh-duh-duh!)
U can't shoot this!
My, my, my, my dslr makes me... so DANGEROUS!
Makes me say, oh my Lord!
thank you! for blessing me,
with a digital camera, that I cannot use anywhere
To shoot! Beautiful pictures!
of my city, and my country
And oh! But i'm known as a terrrorist
And this is a place uh! u can't shoot
(Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
I told you, dangerboy, u can't shoot this!
(Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Yeah, that's how we're immediately perceived and u know... u can't shoot this!
...
PS. this is really all in fun and is a bit exaggerated.. But i think it makes a valid point still.

Haven't been at my desk all day; they banished me to a small windowless room and ANGEL. Ugh. This is my break before I go back into the deep end with the sharks.
