Fountains of Bellagio is a free attraction at the Bellagio resort, located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It consists of a musical fountain show performed in an 8.5-acre man-made lake in front of the resort. The show uses 1,214 water nozzles and 4,792 lights. The fountains shoot as high as 460 feet.
Cooling by the Musical Fountain on a hot day in Budapest. Serenaded by the sounds of Andrea Bocelli's "Time To Say Goodbye" This was our final day in Budapest so it seemed appropriate.
Although a bit old-school, the fountains at KLCC Park are still pretty cool, both figuratively and literally.
Had I managed to stand either way a little bit I might have gotten the crescent moon in the shot. Or, if the moon had been higher I might have gotten it into the shot. I have it in other photos, but the water wasn't shooting high enough. That's why this photo was almost perfection. But it still came out well enough.
I haven't shared a photo of the golden guy statue in a long time, so here is the most recent one I took, which was also over two months ago.
Anyway, it's still there.
Having no new photos make me realize that old and almost forgotten photos are always better than none. These days and the days ahead are expected to be tight for me. No time to go out and shoot. The little time left after work is the time spent to check folders and scavenge for some pics.
Note: I could have photographed more of Las Vegas and Grand Canyons but I was so sick with flu during the entire 4 days that I was there. Just forced myself out. Belaggio Hotel is not where i stayed, I checked-in at Tropicana Hotel which was of course cheaper and the room was huge.
In tandem with the neon palms, Korla by night has a dancing fountain up its sleeve. This really is quite impossible to describe.

I have just returned from an amazing one week long trip to Dubai and I can’t wait to share the incredible memories and shots I made there. Dubai is a city with the tallest building, largest artificial islands, gorgeous dancing fountains, dessert, a futuristic cityscape and many other amazing attractions that would make any photographer ecstatic.
This is one of my favorite views of Dubai that I have seen so far and one I had in mind to shoot for a long time. The time was around 19:30, late blue hour. It was captured the last night I was there as I was enjoying a drink in one of the most fabulous bars there - Neos Bar. It is located at the Address Hotel, on the 63rd floor and the view that I have finally experience firsthand is out of this world! Although, this may sound like a perfect story, I actually had to go through a lot of trouble in order to capture this beauty…First of all; I was not allowed to use a tripod. Secondly, I has to shoot through the glass and many lights behind it were reflecting on the window, which was a pain in the ass. Finally, due to the sand dune that has happened a few days prior, the windows were very dirty. Nevertheless, there was no way in the world I would miss capturing that photo, so I shot hand held and through all the reflections and all the things that were against me that night.
I did 3 brackets at iso 640, f5.6 and 1/3 second for the base exposure and one more exposure for the fountain. It was extremely difficult to blend that shot later with the other ones, due to the lack of a tripod and the position I adjusted the camera to. Anyway, somehow I was able to make it work. The stars are from a different shot, because it was impossible to capture them with those conditions, and I guess it’s impossible to do that anyway, since there is huge light pollution. But I think it was necessary for them to be there, since it gives much more punch to the photo.
As I already mentioned, blending all that was a lot of hard work: three hand held shots, the fountains that was practically a different composition…But with enormous desire to have this shot and great effort and persistency I did manage to achieve this last photo of mine the way I have envisioned it.
The white balance was a struggle as well, since there were too many various types of lights around the cityscape, which gave much contrast between warm and cold white balance angering that to match was one of the most difficult parts. Hence, I ended up blending 3 different raw files into one to have a perfect white balance and then those 3 blended shots that were -1,0 and +1 ev to the final image, the way you see it now.
A bit of sharpening and a lot of noise reduction was applied to remove the noise which was created due to the high iso of 640, in order for the shot to look better.
In reality, if you really want to achieve something, there are no excuses, so I pushed my limits and created this piece of art.
Hope you enjoy
I spent the whole afternoon at one of Dubai’s most attractive recent developments, Madinat Jumeirah - a luxurious 5 star hotel in Dubai and the largest resort in the Emirates. It is set across its own private beach and is a contemporary representation of ancient Arabia, complete with a palm-fringed waterways, desert-colored hotels and villas decorated with wind towers. It is especially mesmerizing in the evening when the gardens and the ground get lit and you can see the beautiful Burj Al Arab glowing in the background. Madinat Jumeirah comprises two boutique hotels (Al Qasr and Mina A’Salam) and a courtyard of 29 summer houses called Dar Al Masyaf. The resort has over 40 restaurants and bars. It is simply stunning!
After shooting the glorious sunset, I was planning to go inside the beach of Al Qasr Hotel that offered a great view of the Burj Al Arab, which I intended to shoot in the first place. On the way there, just after the blue hour, I came across this great composition of the traditional Arab looking center and striking Burj in the back. Needless to say, I had to be very cautious because of the guards, so I placed my tripod quickly and mounted my Nikon D810 with a wide angle lens (16-35mm) at f11 and iso 160 in order to bracket all the files I needed. Additionally, I also did one long exposure shot for the water with a 6 stop filter so as to be able to maintain the smoothness of the reflection. I was extremely happy with the composition I chose and the photographs came out grand!
In terms of the technical part, it was quite difficult to blend all the images, considering that too many lights were coming from the bars around the mall. The luminosity mask helped for some specific parts yet not with everything…Hence the reason, I had to combine various selection techniques to maintain the balance between the lights and shadows.
I blended 5 different exposures, 4 bracketed shots for the base of the image and one for the reflections with a 6 stop ND filter. Later on, I applied some Orton effects to smoothen the transition from the lights and played with Color Effex pro. Finally, selective sharpening was used and noise reduction in order to remove the little noise created by the iso 160.
Without a doubt, one of my favorite views of Dubai, due to its extraordinary representation of the old and the new parts of the city! :)
Hope you like it
Fountain of Nations - we were finally able to get a little rain so I could get some reflections. we ducked into one of the little kiosks so I could set up my tripod without getting soaked. Watching the Fountain at night is always on our must do list.

I've written a little story on how I got this shot and the previous one. You can read it here.

The best dancing fountain I've seen in my life. Perhaps the ultimate free experience in Las Vegas, lol.
Please 2-click the link below and watch the watershow of these fountains. You'll just not enjoy it, you'd love it.

This is also a frame capture from HD video, using my Canon EOS Rebel T6, with the Canon 18-55mm zoom lens. This is also one of those rare views of the fountain without any water shooting up. We do get those moments, I just don't bother taking photographs. This is an exception. For one thing, this is at the end of the video, the link of which is below. For another thing, the Christmas lights reflect beautifully on the surface of the water, and I wanted to share this image with everyone here.
