There is an unspoken competition among the homeowners in the neighborhood, so some have added huge lawn ornaments and motorized displays, making for a lavish holiday spectacle.
Dyker Heights has truly become a “must-see” for many people during the holidays.
You will see visitors walking through the neighborhood as well as people in their cars rolling by at a few miles per hour all around the area.

Featured is Goebel FF301 figurene - the dancing lady in Barvarian Black Forest attire is a porcelain figurine (W Germany) lighted using only candles as the source of light.
These are called Tanjore Dolls, actually a Roly-Poly toys which are hand made in the country side place called Tanjore in Southern India. These doll's base is made of coconut shells and the body is made of clay. Then it is painted to give its due finish.

Dancing doll as if gliding on an ice ring
Stretching with a dreamy grace,
Motionless in a frozen form that can almost sing
Yet with a lifted expressionless face.
Dancing so light with no music in the air
But passion speaks in every stance;
Beautiful ballerina standing breathless there
Inhaling the embodiment spirit of the dance.
The melody softly rhythmic like falling snow
Within it the radiant dancing doll played,
With elongated reaching arms that flow
And with her marble sculpted feet.. music for me she made ♪ ♫

"In a bid to show the state of women in Today’s society, a Kathputli is representative of how it reacts or responds only when one touches or pushes her showing the lack of freedom a women faces. Though she has capacity to achieve everything, at the end she is still a Kathputali in the hands of man. Kathputali is also represent a woman’s reluctance to be mishandled although she can do nothing about it.
In conclusion I want to demonstrate that women were badly discriminated against in the past and are still being done so in some parts of our country.

I was playing posing them on the living room table and couldn't resist taking some pics.
She is my favorite mattel face so far and i wanted her to be poseable. So when i found an Artsy body with pivotal knees,i was thrilled! Its an almost perfect color match.Then she had a feet transplant and some sanding on elbows-knees, and...voila!: a ballerina!
The guy is a clone action doll head repainted an a dragon body. I think they make a nice couple...
It's not great--but not too bad. I think I made the bust darts too close to the waist dart and she's got pointy boobs and the skirt had too much fabric! I could not place the snap at the waist--I would have easily taken off an inch of fabric without changing the feel of it.

Here is the directions/bodice pattern for Barbie's dress. I set the page to "fit to page" on my printer and it seemed to do the trick (maybe small be less than 1/8th of an inch--just drew the pattern lines a little thicker)
Remember you'll have to add bust darts and try not to let the the point of the bust dart get too close to the point of the waist dart or else--pointy boobs!
Additional note: Not even remotely sure why there is a bias piece beyond perhaps extending that collar. I didn't do it at all.

Common name: Dancing Doll Orchid, Golden Shower, Bent Oncidium
Botanical name: Oncidium flexuosum
Dancing Doll Orchid is a large cool growing species from Brazil and Argentina. It has a climbing habit, and quickly grows into a specimen sized plant and is a stunning sight with several 3 ft branched, arching spikes in flower, each spike capable of carrying 100 or more 1 inch flowers. The flowers are buttercup yellow with a minimum of chestnut markings in the centre. The flower shape is reminiscent of a dancing doll. Usually, each bulb produces more than one inflorescence at a time. High humidity is essential for this plant as it prefers to have it’s roots in the air, only sufficient roots necessary to keep it on it’s support come in contact with the mount. Flowering takes place around autumn to early winter, having spent most of the summer forming its tall and floriferous spikes. The long lasting flowers are ideal for cutting.
