She really keeps on wandering and dancing and moving around and hopping around. I found her at a distance from me. when i went to shoot her by my nikon. she kept on dancing and kept me dancing. after quiet a few try she came steady for a few seconds and she kept on dancing. So I named her my Dancing Queen.

The Wandering Glider is the world’s most widely distributed dragonfly occurring worldwide between the 40th parallels of latitude, but being most common in the tropics. They are also the world’s highest flying dragonfly having been recorded at 20,000 feet in the Himalayas. Wandering Gliders, averaging about two inches in length, are yellowish-red overall with a black stripe down the top of the abdomen. The eyes are reddish and there is a faint yellowish patch in the base of the hind wing. The hind wing of this dragonfly is extra wide, which allows for its characteristic gliding flight. Unlike most dragonflies, this species seldom lands during the day and will even fly in pouring down rain and at night during migration periods. By David Arbour.
Dancers from Scottish Ballet in the world premiere of their new production of Swan Lake, choreographed by David Dawson.
I took this at the dress rehearsal at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow, on Monday.
Shooting dance is thrilling, challenging and frustrating in almost equal measures. Particularly when there are lots of dancers on stage...it's a constant challenge trying to identify how to compose the shot. Lots of stray body parts in frame, generally don't make for a great shot.
Shooting dance is chaos...but, order can emerge. :-)
You can see other shots of this production in my Swan Lake set.
It will also be touring to Aberdeen, Inverness, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Liverpool.

Red and black skirts for these Portuguese traditional folk dancers lined up ready to go.
Backless black shoes and a variety of socks, tights, leggings and bare feet but who cares - they danced beautifully!

The Takachiho mountain region, at the border between the Kumamoto and Miyazaki prefectures, is a place of homage to Japan’s rich mythology and legends, famous for the Yokagura, a Shinto ritual/sacred dance that consists of 33 parts, designated as a national important intangible folk cultural property in 1978. The story goes that the Sun Goddess Amaterasu hid in the Amanoiwaya cave after her brother Susano-o, the Storm God, destroyed her rice fields. The world plunged into darkness and all other gods tried to lure her out with prayers and dances. The Totori dance is the third out the 4 excerpts that are performed each night at the Kagura-den of the Takachiho shrine. Here, Tajikarao gets rid of the rock at the entrance of the cave, summoning his strength by swinging his black hair.
