Dalen Church is a small half-timbered church. It was built in 1935 according to drawings by the Norwegian Building Inspector, but adjusted by engineer Einar Landmark. As early as 1915, there was consecrated a graveyard at this site, and a belfry. The belfry was removed when the church was built and the bells moved to the new tower.
The interior was decorated by Ragnvald Einbu. He has painted the decor and figure paintings on the ceilings and over the choir arch. On the gallery's parapet are painted biblical scenes. The inventory has been completed from the time of construction. The altar piece was made by Olav Solgard and decorated by Ragnvald Einbu and shows the ascension, inspired by Raphael's The Transfiguration (1520). The pulpit is octagonal and decorated with biblical figures. The baptismal font is from 1935 and was carved by Fridjov Dalslåen and painted by Einbu.
This was an an hour and twelve minutes before the sunset shot (next in Set) I had little else to do while waiting so I took a few shots (500) while we waited for the sunset. Naida, Dalen and Alexander were there. I met Glenn Nagel there some time after he set up his tripod next to mine.
