Towards the late Edo era,the Niwa family used to run an inn called "Ise-kyu" which to served as a "Waki-Honjiin",supplementary quarters for servants of "Daimyo" feudal lords if all of them cannot be put up at a "Honjin", a designated main inn for "Daimyo's " tours.

ブナ科コナラ属

桜の花が散りはじめると、カシワの若葉が厚ぼったく展開し、花序を下げ始めます。

カシワの葉は冬も落葉せずに枝に残りますが、枯れた葉でも日照を邪魔してライバルの成長を遅らせる効果があるのかないのか？

それとも、落葉が地上で腐朽するタイミングを遅らせ、葉を展開し、花を開き、実を太らせるのにタイミング良く利用するためなんでしょうか？

In late October I took a random trip to Saga Castle in Saga City (Saga Prefecture, Kyuushuu.) They happened to be having a reenactment event that day and dozens and dozens of people in elaborate costumes were there.
