Today was a super nice day. 2 hours of work, 2 hours of walking around and then 2 more hours of work.
I started to remember the last time I was here. I was reading Cloud Atlas. It’s a story about how characters are tied together besides time and space. Now I’m reading 1Q84. In a way they’re similar. That in this life, or in the next life, in this world, or in another one, we’ll meet again and be together.

I think the most inspirational was Stephen Shore’s exhibition. It might sound silly or shallow, but he really makes photography easy and possible. Does that make sense to anybody?

#AbstractAffirmationsDaily 37/366 • “Figure” *** Oh man did I fight a battle with the tax monsters today. It may sound silly, but as anyone out there who has started a small business can attest, taxes are no simple thing to figure out. I spent my Saturday Googling things like “state nexus” and “retail license” and trying to translate state tax codes into some semblance of the English language. These past few years have been a gradual climb toward “going pro” and now I finally feel I’m at the point where my business has its big girl pants on. I have a bookkeeper, an accountant, a federally recognized business entity (and all the paperwork to prove it.) And yet, today as I was Googling myself in circles and sending desperate emails to my accountant, I felt like I was back at square one again trying to navigate around in a foreign country. I helpless and, honestly, kind of incompetent at times. “WHY doesn’t this make more sense to me,” I’d ask myself. After hours of pulling my hair out, I was right on the verge of giving up. I figured I’d just have to trust all of this to the pros and have faith in the people whose jobs are to help me. But I couldn’t quit. I did not want this blip of a thing called taxes to beat me! So I kept reading, kept searching, until I arrived at some sort of understanding of what I was trying to accomplish. I realized that, yes, some things in life are just plain complicated. We can spend our time wishing that were different, OR we can do our best to figure it out and press on. Hey, if starting a business was easy, everyone would do it, right? So, whatever your hurdle is today, be it taxes or business or a whole slew of other challenges that exist out there for us humans, keep believing that you WILL figure this out. I made some overnight oats so if some one wants the recipe, just let me know in the coments. They’re super tasty (I know every one says this but they really are!), very easy to make and quite filling. Which reminds me. I’m going to let you in on a little secret. You’ve seen these very beautiful photos of bowls of cereal decorated with chia seeds, rows of 3 or 4 different fruits, different mixes of nuts? Well these pictures are an absolute and complete lie! Here I have around 100 grams of oats, 20 grams of almonds and half of a banana and I could barely finish it! Unless those bowls on Instagram are for 5-6 people then they are a sham, my friend! Only a little of these oats and it’s enough to fill you up for several hours. (⇀_⇀)

I got flowers today.
I asked Andrzej to take a picture of me holding the flowers and looking melancholically out the window. Like always, when he photographs me, he makes a joke or says something funny and I can’t keep a straight face or I straight up burst into laughing.
Now, looking at all the photos, trying to pick one for posting, I discovered that all the “melancholic” pictures are either shaky, or my eyes are half way closed, or something. In the end, this is the best from the series. Conspiracy? I very much think so!

What my video instructor, Cosmin, said when I showed him in art school photos of my feet: “It’s ok to take photos of your feet. You’ll grow out of it eventually.”
What Irina understood: “Please take photos of your feet forever. They’re awesome!”
Joke aside now, I’ve seen many photos like this on Instagram and thought they’re cute. In reality, I can’t say I have enjoyed it very much. It seems a built-up scenario without any substance. It’s not sending any message about me, and it’s certainly not something I would necessarily do, not an inherent activity of my normal life. I mean, I hope whoever is reading this doesn’t get me wrong. I have nothing against pretty flat lays on Instagram of teas, candles, dried leaves, cozy blankets, and knitted stockings. On the contrary, I really enjoy looking at them, especially after a hard day of work. I just think that this style doesn’t fit this project at all. Fregoli is a daily journal and I am always trying to show something of what I did that day or some thought I had. The photographs are preceded by actions, and actions give birth to the image, not the other way around. Does that make sense? Not to mention that my tea got cold and I had to re-heat it. >.<

This is a project to keep me learning and interested in photography. Suposed to put up one photo daily...so some will be good..and quite a lot of them will probably be not so good ;)
My grandma has a house at the main street of the village. You enter the yard and you have the house on your left and the front yard with flowers and cats on your right. You pass another gate and your enter a small yard with birds. Here you find a dog, mostly chickens and ducks but there used to be also geese, a pig and at some point, for a very short time, one sheep. if you keep walking you pass a metal gate and find yourself in the garden. Here my grandma and my parents have planted various vegetables and there is a small orchard. At the end of the garden there is another gate. Pass that gate there is now open land where my uncle usually plants corn. At the end of this parcel there is a small road where very little cars pass, and then you enter straight in a vineyard. The vineyard is also ours. We used to pick up the grapes together in autumn. Pass the vineyard there is this field here in the photo. This is the neighbor’s field. Every year he’s planting wheat and it’s always perfect for me to take photos in it. I usually grab a chair to use as a tripod (yeah I know. #professionalphotographer ) This time I asked my mum to take photos of me. I always think she’s doing a good job and I encourage her to take more photos. ^_^
Ps: I am wearing one of her high school dresses here.
