Spanish dagger blooms seen in the neighborhood on my walk this afternoon, not long after I got home I found out my younger sister suddenly passed away earlier this afternoon. So, I'm posting this in her memory. She was 52 and was in a bad car accident last fall. She was in the hospital for three months and was released about a month ago. We thought she was slowly getting better, so it was a surprise to us all.

These dagger moth caterpillars (Acronicta americana) have decided they like my flame azalea. I can't find any reference to them using flame azalea as a host plant but I guess they aren't choosy.
