A friend of mine convinced me to check out Daft Punk at The Arrow Hall in Mississauga on Sunday August 5th, 2007.
Am I a new convert to Electronic Dance Music???
This was most definitely during "One More Time". Probably one of the best moments of my life. Everything felt perfect for a few minutes.

¿Y si Daft Punk fuera Colombiano?
Hasta que vi imágenes en el noticiero a finales de Abril del festival 46 de la leyenda vallenata, me di cuenta de cuanto puede una persona disfrutar y sentir la música realmente y yo para ese momento estaba con la ansiedad de conocer el nuevo álbum de Daft punk, que prometía ser una joya de la música dance para este año. Y era tanto mi interés en saber cómo iba a ser Random memory access, que por un momento, viendo a toda esa gente bailar, saltar y cantar sin parar, me imagino que como un placebo pensé: “…¿y si daft punk fuera colombiano?....¿y si tocaran vallenato?...
Bueno, ya antes me lo había cuestionado cuando viajaba al trabajo y mientras en el bus sonaba vallenato en mis audífono sonaba el Alive 2007, y a veces, con dificultad sonaba una mezcla coherente en mi cabeza entre las dos cosas. Muy seguramente si el dueto fuera coterráneo, habría traído del pasado a esos grandes iconos del vallenato de los setentas y ochentas que hicieron tantos éxitos, como rindiendo un tributo al sonido de estas décadas haciendo participe a sus protagonistas, muy seguramente habríamos escuchado a Poncho Zuleta interpretando la guacharaca en una de las canciones, a Jorge Oñate interpretando una de las canciones, gritando de fondo: “Ay Homem!”, a Rafael Ricardo dándole calor al acordeón en un tema instrumental, a Diomedez Diaz interpretando una canción romántica y a ellos sumados nuevos talentos del vallenato, personas realmente brillantes que han experimentado y han contribuido al genero.
Al final de las canciones montones de dedicatorias con voz robótica elogiando belleza y amistad, los cascos tendrían un sistema de súper-ventilación para aguantar el trajín de una buena fiesta al lado del río Guatapurí, seguro ya una de las canciones sale para ser banda sonora de una de las tantas producciones sobre narcotráfico que tenemos en el cine y la tv, existirían montones de acusaciones de pequeñas organetas Casio que reclaman ser hijas de uno de los artistas producto de una gira de hace unos años, y bueno, serian queridos por todos, porque si a alguien apreciamos en Colombia es a los artistas que nos traen tanta alegría con su música y mucho antes que el futbol, los atletas y los cocineros eran los músicos los que nos traían glorias del exterior.
Posiblemente, siempre haya que dar un paso hacia atrás con firmeza para dar un salto al futuro, como en su momento lo hiciera Carlos Vives a su manera, con la música del caribe y en el caso del nuevo álbum del dueto francés se hizo algo similar, darle el sonido a su música del inicio y la época de oro del dance, creando música inspiradora justo como la que en algún momento los llenaría a ellos de ideas, con una gran producción musical y sonidos sintetizados increíbles, muy seguramente esto determinará en gran parte el sonido de la música que escucharemos en los próximos años como ha sido costumbre con los álbumes anteriormente lanzados. Obviamente sin poner a competir a los dos géneros, pero si con el animo de pensar la importancia de conocer el origen o la razón de ser de la música que ahora nos gusta y que nos hace tener tantas grandes emociones.
