We got to Horseshoe Bend an hour before sunset and the main photo spot was already full of tripods, we had to scout around and find a decent place to get this shot, in hindsight I'm glad we didn't shoot at the typical spot, I try and add some variation to typical scenic points so this was a great exercise.
The outer leg on my tripod was no more than six inches away from a 1000ft drop straight down and I'm not too good with heights, so thank goodness for live view and a remote shutter ;)
I'm not sure why but it appears flickr has applied some kind of sharpening to my image.

Been feeling a little down in the dumps mainly because I feel like I am hobbled by life although I don't want to rid myself of those chains. Anyway I have a friend who is a right royal pain in the backside but she is always waiting to catch me when I fall. Slightly easier now I weigh less :-)
she does all that regression malarky on me by going back over my photos to remind me to dtop bing an idiot.
Tonight she really dug into my photographic history and pointed me to the first photo here. that was a long time ago about nine years. the second image was last week.
It shows that however bad you might think you look now with practice, time and motivation you can get to my image from last week. hell i wasnt passable 9 years ago but i still went out and people had faith in me adn helped me along the way.
when you get to how i am now dont forget where you came from, your roots. we all started in the closet and the man/girl in the first photo is no less valid than me today.
The 90EX on dtop of the camera optically triggers the 270EXii which is velcro'd to the lens hood. Both flashes are very small and lightweight/take up little luggage space. The 270EXii is easily diffused, here with the Stoffen Omni but additional diffusion materials are easy to add per Orionmystery's blog on flash diffusion.
Another failed attempt at getting a Dart on a D along Admirals Way. The D2 prior to this was a Dart, but a cloud didn`t clear the sun in time,....... Typiclly, the sun came out for this Enviro. This is Stagecoach 37068 (YY63 YRP) with a Northampton bound D1.

Such luscious colours. I can see a loose-ish treatment... wet in wet with good detail on the stamens an dtop left corner petal. Gotta psyche myself up a bit more. Remember, I am a rusty old thing!

Aquest migdia ha tingut lloc la inauguració de la reobertura de l'aeroport Pirineus-La Seu d'Urgell en un acte que han presidit el president de la Generalitat de Catalunya, José Montilla, i el conseller del Departament de Política Territorial i Obres Públiques (DTOP), Joaquim Nadal, juntament amb l'alcalde de la Seu d'Urgell, Albert Batalla, i els alcades de Motferrer i Castellbò i Ribera d'Urgellet, Ramon Fierro, i Antoni Capdevila, i el ministre de Turisme d'Andorra, Claudi Benet, entre d'altres autoritats.
En l'acte de reobertura d'aquestes instal·lacions de vol, el president català ha assenyalat que l'aeroport Pirineus-La Seu d'Urgell ha de servir per dinamitzar el turisme i el desenvolupament econòmic de les comarques de muntanya. Montilla ha qualificat aquesta infraestructura "d'oportunitat" per al Pirineu. Per la seva part, l'alcalde de la Seu d'Urgell, Albert Batalla, ha remarcat que "la reobertura de l'aeroport servirà per posar-nos en el mapa".
Les obres per posar a punt l'aeroport han estat realitzades pel DPTOP i han comportat un cost d'2,9 milions d'euros. S'han dut a terme amb l'objectiu de reobrir aquesta infraestructura estratègica amb totes les garanties de seguretat i qualitat del servei.
L'aeroport Pirineus-La Seu d'Urgell es configura com un element clau per a facilitar una accessibilitat còmoda i ràpida fins a les comarques pirinenques. A partir d'avui mateix, aquest aeroport acollirà vols d'aviació general i també es podrà utilitzar en cas d'emergència. així doncs, serà un aeròdrom de vols privats amb una capacitat per a aeronaus de fins a 17,5 metres de longitud, per 8 a 10 persones, aproximadament.
La primera fase d'ampliació de la infraestructura serà la construcció d'hangars. De moment, malgrat que el termini queda obert fins el 10 de juny, ja s'han rebut 9 peticions, tant de diferents aeroclubs com de particulars. Les parcel·les de cada hangar seran de 19 per 25 metres i 15 per 10 metres.
Recordem que aquest l'aeroport Pirineus-La Seu d'Urgell està situat entre els termes municipals de Montferrer i Castellbò i Ribera d'Urgellet. Aquest aeroport propietat de l'empresari Josep Betriu va ser inaugurat el juliol de 1982 amb un vol d'Aviaco Barcelona-La Seu d'Urgell i va funcionar regularment fins l'any 1984.

We are all excited around here today. hehe Got an email this morning from Stefan Bucher letting me know that he had posted Ysa's art on the Daily Monster site!
Our whole household dtops what we are doing on a daily basis to watch Stefan's hand move across the page; we love the sounds of his pens (turn your volume up) and our favorite part is when he blows the ink, inspiring the monster to show itself.
If you have never seen Stefan's Daily Monster you seriously need to check it out! Sadly there are only two more monsters till the end but, never fear, the monsters will still be there (as far as I know) and Stefan is currently working on a book!
Thank you Stefan for taking the time to post this, she is ecstatic and we were all thrilled to see it. :) :::hugs:::
