More than 30 years ago, cycling in Japan in the Kanto area, North-west of Tokyo with my brand-new Giant Peloton-8000 bicycle, bought of the Takayama bike shop, Wako-shi, Saitama prefecture. I brought it back to France in 1991 and I still own and use it in 2021.
Original pictures were taken using a 35 mm Fuji HD-M camera, Fujinon lens 38mm f/2.8 and Fujifilm negative color films.
They were digitalized using a Sony A7 body and a Minolta Slide Duplicator with a Minolta Auto Bellows Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5, and processed using the GIMP software for color inversion and Luminar-AI enhanced.
Montreal and Barcelona do it...Why is this not universal?? Putting the bike lanes between parked cars and the curb takes no more space and provides near complete safety for cyclicsts.
In the 1990’s I started photographing the theme “Cycling landscapes”.

My husband Jac and I like to make cycling tours, but due to medical problems Jac wasn't able to cycle last year at all. Can you imagine how glad we are we can bike together again. We started this week with two short distances, hopefully we can this year ride some long tours again!
Nikon D300 and Sigma 10-20mm lens attached to front forks with loads of gaffer tape. 1/30 second, F.11 @ 100 ISO. One SB900 on full power fired with pocket wizards and held by a friend trying to keep up while I’m cycling (that’s why I’m laughing!)
That’s my bit of creativity done for the day, now for the beer!
Oh but it feels weird not to put numbers after the title of this shot!
The kids wanted to ride their bikes today so we went around the block - which also included the field behind the house and yes, the giant puddle in said field. Shoes, socks and trousers now in the washing machine :) Good fun though.

Leaning the bike with only the saddle touching the wall enables the cranks and wheels to turn while you run the chain etc through a rag. Just a handy solution when the bike rack is not conveniently available.
