One of my favorite books from the original Cyberpunk time period before the Internet became commonplace is "Trouble And Her Friends" by Melissa Scott. It's kind of a funky book because it was right as the Internet was a thing so the author had to be more concrete with her description of the technology. It's also one of the few unabashaedly ownvoices queer novels from that era.

Cyberpunk, especially right now, is a bit where the author wrote a novel entitled "Don't Invent the Torment Vortex" and a bunch of techbros excitedly invented the Torment Vortex and there's a bit of that, but at least there are touchpoints with real life in Trouble and Her Friends that make me smile. I guess you can say that the book is a bit of a Torment Vortex warning about queerphobia in tech just as much as it's a Torment Vortex warning about everything else, but at least there's characters who remind me of some of my favorite people.

So, yeah, here's katherinegilmur, the other model from the photo-party last weekend, in some amazing shades, dressed as the femme heorine (Molly? Trouble? Trinity?) from every single piece of cyberpunk fiction, from right at the beginning of our shoot.

Strobist details: There's a pair of Godox TT600's to the left right next to each other, one with a purple gel, one with a blue gel. There's a Godox TT600 and a Neewer NW-561 to the left also right next to each other, one with a 1/2 CTO gel one with a red gel. The Godox's use the XProO and the NW-561 was optically triggered.
