2. Poetry - Include the words of a poem in your image. The photo itself should be inspired by the poem. The words may be added using your photo editing software of choice, or you may photograph them. Major bonus points for writing an original poem for this assignment. (Thanks to 4inthehouse who suggested "words, poetry, lyrics on a picture.")

One a Day:
Maybe a 365 of anything. not just sp's but a bit of everything. It will force me to shoot. I miss it.
For a new group I'm trying out: Take a class with Dave & Dave ~apple
So I kind of hate Cubism. And I think I kind of hate photographic attempts at cubism even more, I think. So, creative work-around, or snarky cop-out? I haven't decided.
cwd531 - Cubism: I can't say I'm sure how to capture the cubist style in a photograph, but I'm looking forward to seeing you all figure it out. :-)
cwd 712: Jump! - If ever there was an assignment that should attract the magic monkey, this is the one. Photos should contain someone (person or animal) in mid-jump, suspended magically in the air. See how interesting you can make this! Van Halen lyrics optional.
Possible for the Black and White Portrait assignment in the Class With Daves.
Hmmm.. My first candid. I'm not sure exactly who this rather tired little guy was, though I believe we're related somehow. ;-)
For the Macro assignment in the Class With Daves.
Chess is one of those things I love the look of. Though I haven't played in years. The Knight, in particular, was my favorite piece. I always liked how it moved in a more unusual way...
for class with dave assignment: fantasy.
i was reminded of the little mermaid, when her voice is taken in exchange for humanity.

Class with Daves: Toys - Photograph one or more toys in an interesting way. Make us laugh. Or not. But make it interesting. Photos of children playing with toys are NOT allowed.
I'm not a huge fan of toys ... i have one nephew and i brought this lizard for him .. i was going fo a movie still look ... not sure i got there ...
Thank you Ambrosia for aiding me in this shot. Mostly her idea too. I'm using her muse from time to time. At least till I find my own.
For the Spooky assignment in the Class With Daves.
Dew-covered in the morning. I like how it turned out more creepy than I thought it would.
cwd772 - B&W Flowers - If there's one subject that just begs to be photographed in color, it's flowers. But since that's been done over 6,000,000 times, I thought we'd try something different. Give us your most interesting black & white flower shot!
this is the first picture i have ever seen on explore while "exploring" explore.
i got overly excited and my daughter laughed at me.
CWD 2-8-2 12642 (Montreal 1945) on shed. The broad gauge engine shed was located opposite the metre gauge depot (behind the camera) to the east of Idgah station.
I wasn't the only person wandering around the sheds but I was the only one showing any interest in the steam engines & taking photos!
These locomotives were built for the upsurge in traffic during WWII & since British builders were fully occupied they were manufactured in Canada.
Assignment 1. High key. The "key" of an image describes the nature of the tones presented. In a High key image most of the tones will be brighter than middle gray. Bright background, bright subject, and the dark tones take on a supernatural power to highlight what you want to show.

this was my least favorite assignment in theory, but my favorite photograph of the week. yay!
explore #16
My take on her painting
Update: Got to 95 on Explore, thanks!!!
For TACWDD: It is by no means an exact representation. But it captures the essence and I think it's well done.
cwd312 : Industry . Cybergabi had this wonderful idea. I leave it to you how you want to show us industry, I'm hoping for the comically creative to the sublime.
this is not really comically creative or even sublime, but its a park i visit alot to relax and unwind... and the park in a former life part of a concrete processing plant which took the sand and stone from the river to the plant.. in its hey day this conveyor belt would rumble day & night... now its a wonderful green park..

So let mercy come,
And wash away…
What I’ve Done.
I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become.
Erase myself,
And let go of what I've done.
Put to rest,
What you thought of me.
While I clean this slate,
With the hands,
Of uncertainty.
For the Art Supplies assignment in the Class With Daves.
Quite possibly the least artsy shot for the assignment.
Though I love the little manikin man.
Geldingahnappur (Armeria maritima) floating on the blue water surrounding the blue lagoon
a possible entry for assignment 3. Negative Space. Here we let the empty areas of our image convey the impact of the image. Tag with cwd273.
I'm reading a chapter about playing marbles in "The Dangerous Book for Boys" It briefly describes how marbles are made and how to actually play with them.

Assignment 2. Mirror/Reflection. A great, though challenging, compositional element is the mirror. Use reflections to complement your subject. Anyone doing a self-portrait in a mirror will be tagged “phoned in.” All other reflections are fair game. Tag with cwd132.
