Inspired by the cut-up experiments of William Burroughs, I used various techniques to create original cut-up compositions
The cambium layer was hard, wet, and very cold underneath all those layers of spongy bark. I think the bark is a good insulator, so the very cold night had chilled the whole thing down, and it was kept there by the insulation until I cut into them the next day. There is a kind of film of wet, white powder on the cambium, which could be wiped away with a finger.

Here's the second load, back in my driveway. I did not have time to unload this. I had to rush through a shower and a change, and then get back to work. It was really fast work back at the felled tree to clean it all up and load the truck again, however.
After most of a year of looking for Jacaranda mimosifolia, hoping one would fall over naturally (I don't cut anything down - I lie in wait, like a vulture for things to fall on their own), one finally did. Things worked out for me today, big time.
Very eccentric rings around this very off-center pith. The rings are enormous, too. They must be 3/4" in diameter at their largest side.
