This section of the Eucalyptus log was red inside, and had checks that make it look a bit like a citrus fruit, or melon. Neat!
The outside of the bark in the surrounding shots. I love this coloration and texture. It looks like cement, almost.
Slightly bigger piece now, with a forked branch flush-sawn off, and showing some cool details of color on the cambium, as well as some twig locations. There's a bit of spongy bark still in the right 2 holes.
These smaller branches show only a few years' worth of growth rings, with green piths and purple cambiums.

This is a location where a few big branches split off. I like how each of the 2 closest to the camera here are in different states of health. The whiter one at left is fairly healthy. The one at right is mostly dried out and dead. I think that may have been trimmed from the tree awhile ago, exposing it, and then I came in later and made the newer cuts.
