the kids who guarded this dog let me know all about the breed, or, what they knew - there were a few really cute kids, all under 6 years:

The older girl came out and said, "Is she being bad at all....because....they attack chows on sight...they disembowel chows...they "go after their guts" ... they are japanese dogs and chows are chinese..."

this was a really sweet dog. husband said, "we can have one of these..."
