I wouldn't be surprised if the owner of this El Camino and this modest home enjoys more self-satisfaction than the average maker of a Land Rover payment in a 4000 square foot faux-Tuscan McVilla in the outer east burbs.
Wheel Swap!!! Time to take the 720s out for a day at the track :)

This model is loosely based on a vehicle in which I have had some perception-altering experiences, the classic Mumbai Taxi.
Taxi? Check. Madness? Check. Need to get there faster than you thought possible? Check!
A gaping maw of intake, intercooler and turbo piping coupled with a massive rear diffuser and a serious looking dual exhaust suggest this is no ordinary Mumbai Taxi and may be a good sign that you are in fact on your way to a Time Attack Challenge instead of wherever you previously planned. Either way you might be redefining “Crazy Taxi”.
On the detailing front: Custom rock guard taping for the headlights, custom plates, and the requisite car numbering and fleet ID markers ensure unwilling passengers will not receive a DNF for failing to properly identify the vehicle with clearly marked numbers :) On the roof, custom mail package labels, custom FRAGILE tape and a custom fabric roll round things out. Special mention goes out to Jon Elliott for the inventive use of the Friends lipstick as taillights, which I have quoted here :)
I hope you enjoy!

The Renault 5 Maxi Turbo is one of my all-time favorite vehicles and certainly one that cemented in my (then) young brain the idea of cramming a large, powerful motor into a tiny flexible package to create an entirely new kind of wonderfully freakish monster.
With this build I was particularly focused on wanting the rear air intakes to be brick-built and have actual visual depth, and I wanted the rear to be wider than the front which is a key visual trait of this car. That led me to the idea of attempting the build as a 6-wide front and 7-wide rear.
Interplay between the 6-wide and 7-wide sections created room to take advantage of some nice offsets for the rear hatch, both vertical and horizontal, as well as to find nice positions for the tail lamps and the rear venting. As always with SC scale, this is a mere caricature of the glorious original, but the madness of this little beast is evident.
On the detailing front, I used graphic inserts for the fog lights, headlights and tails to help give some definition and pump up the texture just a bit. Giving the car more dimension and scale detail in this way is a technique I’m increasingly happy with.
I hope you enjoy!

There’s been no love for classic Japanese steel in the Speed Champions line, so it’s up to us to make it happen! This little monster is a Datsun 510. The 510 is one of my all-time favorite vehicles and one that has become a car tuner staple. Light and flexible with such wonderful basic proportions that it looks good in almost any modified configuration.
This old track dog has been converted to shop car duty, random daily use, and handing out the occasional stop light smack-down. It’s unknown what lurks beneath the hood of this beast, but it does have a reputation for embarrassing those who underestimate it. A burly roof rack takes care of anything the shop can throw at it, and a complementary set of garage accessories help round things out.
On the detailing front, I used graphic inserts for the headlights to give some much needed definition there, printed some custom personalized plates and applied some mid-century minimalist track livery to dial in the vibe. I hope you enjoy!
