The flower was converted in Topaz using a 'sketch' preset of mine. The 'flower shower' was the result of learning about and playing around with custom brushes in affinity photo, using two different vectors including another flower and a star. The stripey lines are produced by taking a small selection and stretching it out. Some texture, some colour manipulation, and some creative framing,
Definitely over-processed. But loads of fun!
[My husband says it looks a greeting card from the 1980s - not sure if that's a good thing or not!]
I made this one for Ki, a kid with a lot of imagination (and IMO, future art director in somewhere ;). In fact, I haven't post this work earlier cause I was waiting for Ki to name his very own robot ;). Then, I respected his choice (I love it btw ).

I used an IR Filter to take the picture and then I used a texture and custom brushes from Skeleton Mess and Obsidian Dawn! They were made for Photoshop but I used them in GIMP!
...and I won't get enough, until my legs are broken...

The dangers of space travel is never more clearer than coming up on the event horizon of a black hole. Only one hopes that you see it soon enough to avoid it's gravitional field and get sucked in.
Okay, for anyone interested on how I did this, just ask. It is a long exposure photograph I took with the star field the only fake thing on it. That was using brushes in GIMP! I will say it is amazing the things I come across in those out of the way Mom and Pop thrift stores!
...You know, the one area your Mother warned you about. The darker, seedier side of town where a good person such as yourself could get into a whole lot of trouble!
Originally I was making a sort of 'nightclub'-type wallpaper and I came across some interesting effects.
I really like this because it's slightly off my usual style... somehow...

I was still amazed by custom brushes, I had to make another image. My masking tendancy also played a part here.

I just learnt about downloading custom brushes!! I found myself the very style I wanted: SPLATTER!!

Here's an interesting technique:
Create a Black & White adjustment layer and set it's Blending to 'Darken'
Tweak the colors to bring yourself that 1 step closer to HDR-like image.
GET YOUR HANDS ON NOISEWARE!! Awesome software that cleans up quite well!!
