Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus is commonly called lemon daylily or lemon lily and features 4" diameter, trumpet-shaped, lemon yellow flowers.

Another from last year. The background is natural - just the early light falling on golden grass with the butterfly in my shadow and a tweak or two of the exposure.
A petunia whose colours speak to its name - reminds me of sweets I used to buy as a kid. Photographed in Great Horwood, Buckinghamshire, England.
It was in the mid 90"s the day we shot the daylilies, the sun was almost unbearable. I loved how the light illuminated the flower so I left it SOOC. Huntsville Botanical Garden, Alabama.

University Centre, Cambridge. All that's missing is the custard:-) You've got to have the custard with the sponge cake. Not keen on their chocolate flavour one, however!

The peeled lid of a banana custard pot. All natural ingredients it says, only I have never tasted a banana that tastes like the banana flavour in this pot. Where do they get the bananas that flavour these? I think we should know. :)
These Osteospernum flower heads just scream "Rhubarb and custard". A food I still love as a desert and a sweet from my childhood!
