JJ Abrams, Damon Lindelof, and Carlton Cuse (the creators of LOST) have purchased the rights to adapt The Dark Tower into a film or TV series. Stephen King, an outspoken fan of LOST, sold them the rights for 19 dollars (you Constant Readers out there should understand that).

The history of Setnor Auditorium and of Crouse College is ingrained in that of Syracuse University, itself. Crouse College was built in 1888 and was the third building on what would become the Syracuse University campus. At the time, the goal was to create a coeducational university, where women were afforded an equal opportunity at higher education. Formally, the building is called John Crouse Memorial College for Women, but when it was opened in 1889, it had transformed into a completely coeducational school for fine arts, the first of its kind in the United States.
John Crouse was a businessman and grocery store owner and native of North Syracuse. He died prior to the building's 1889 opening, and his son finished supervising the building's completion, and then named the building in his father's memory. It was designed by architect Archemedes Russell in a revival of the Romanesque style of design. The exterior structure is made of Longmeadow brownstone and supported by a stout granite foundation. The high roofs, gables, rounded arches, and dormer windows provide a general medieval character which is romantic and stately in nature. The interior is distinctively Romanesque with carved hardwood woodwork designs representative of the elaborate patterns of this period.
Music and the arts have always flourished in Crouse College. Now home to the Setnor School of Music, Crouse College is an active, dynamic building bustling with dedicated music students of all types. Setnor Auditorium offers many concerts each year by the students, faculty, ensembles, and guest artists of the Setnor School of Music.
Setnor Auditorium was extensively renovated in 1998. The seats, floors, carpets, stage, and windows were all refinished and restored. This was due to a generious gift from the Setnor family, Rose, Jules, and Stanford Setnor. The music school and the Auditorium were renamed for the family. Individual seats were also sponsered at that time and each seat in the Auditorium is named for a family or individual.
Setnor Auditorium is home to a magnificent Holtkamp organ, which replaced the Roosevelt organ that was installed in the original space. Crouse College also houses a ten bell carillon set which provides the area with three fifteen minute concerts each day. They are played by the ChimesMasters, a student organization run through the Music School.
Crouse College has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974. Crouse College also houses the Winged Victory copy and several copies of art that are housed in Paris's Louvre and Pantheon. In the early days of Syracuse University, the fine arts department paid for copies of famous pieces of art for their art students to study art up close. These works now line the walls on the second floor of Crouse College. Crouse College is also home to glorious stained glass windows, most are original to the building and others were installed by Richard Wolff in celebration of Syracuse University's centennial celebrations in 1970.
Setnor Auditorium boasts a 70-foot wooden ceiling which adds to the beauty and resonance of the space. Attending a concert in this beautiful wooden space, with sunlight illuminating the stained glass windows that line each side of the auditorium, is a transcendent experience, linking the room's atmosphere to the musical performance.

What is breast cancer?
Breast cancer is a type of cancer where cells in the breast tissue divide and grow without normal control. Like other cancers, breast cancer can spread throughout the body. Only a small fraction of breast cancer cases can be linked to genetics.
Breast cancer knows few boundaries. It is one of the most frequently diagnosed cancers today. All women are at risk; and, although rare, men can also develop the deadly disease. Breast cancer is complex and unpredictable. We arenât sure what causes breast cancer, so, we canât say for sure how to prevent. We do know that early detection saves lives.
⢠An estimated 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in 2009. An estimated 40,170 women will die. In addition to invasive breast cancer, 62,280
new cases of in situ breast cancer are expected to occur among women in 2009.
⢠An estimated 1,910 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and an estimated 440 will die in 2009.
⢠Breast cancer is the leading cancer among American women and second only to lung cancer in cancer deaths.
⢠More than two million women currently living in the U.S. have been diagnosed and treated for breast cancer.
Who gets breast cancer?
Anyone can get breast cancerâwomen and men. But, the exact causes of breast cancer are not fully
understood. Scientists have identified a number of risk factors that increase a person's chance of
getting breast cancer.
⢠All women are at risk for breast cancer. The two most important risk factors for breast cancer are
being female and getting older. The risk of getting breast cancer increases as you age. Most breast
cancers and breast cancer deaths occur in women aged 50 and older. Until more is known about
preventing breast cancer, early detection and effective treatment offer the best defense against
breast cancer mortality.
⢠younger women can also get breast cancer. Just five percent of all breast cancers
occur in women under age 40
⢠Race is not considered a factor for increased risk of breast cancer. However, rates of developing
and dying from the disease differ among ethnic groups.
⢠Breast cancer is the most common cancer among African American women. It is also the second
leading cause of cancer death among African American women, exceeded only by lung cancer.
⢠Breast and ovarian cancer are somewhat more common among women of Ashkenazi Jewish
descent (ancestors who came from Central or Eastern Europe).
⢠Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Hispanic/Latina women.
⢠About 85 percent of all women diagnosed with breast cancer DO NOT have a family history.
What to do ??
Screening increases the chances of detecting most types of breast cancer at earlier stages. when breast cancer is found early, cure rates exceed 90%.
Taking a few minutes to do a breast self-exam a minimum of once a month can make a lifetime of difference. Nearly 70% of all breast cancers are found through self-exams and with early detection the 5-year survival rate is 98%. If you find a lump, schedule an appointment with your doctor, but don't panicâ8 out of 10 lumps are not cancerous. For additional peace of mind, call your doctor whenever you have concerns.

تذكري عزيزتي أن سرطان الثدي هو أكثر الأورام السرطانية شيوعاً عند النساء فنسبة حدوثه المتوقعة إمرأة واحدة من بين 8-10 نساء
- كل ثلاث دقائق يتم تشخيص إمرأة بأن لديها سرطان ثدي.
- يعتبر المسبب الثاني للوفاة من السرطان عند النساء.
- كل إمرأة معرضة للإصابة وخاصة مع تقدم العمر.
- 73% من الحالات في المملكة العربية السعودية تصل إلى الطبيب في مراحل متقدمة جداً لامجال لشفائها مقارنة بـ 30% من الحالات في البلاد المتقدمة لاهتمام بنظام الكشف الدوري للثدي.
- لم يعرف حتى الآن أسباب مؤكدة للسرطان وبالتالي الوفاة منهI.
من رحمة الله علينا أنه بالإمكان اكتشافه مبكراً جداً وبالتالي معالجته بحيث قدرت نسبة الشفاء 92-96%
كل ما عليك فعله عزيزتي هو :
1- الفحص الذاتي للثديين كل شهر بين اليوم السابع – العاشر من الدورة الشهرية وذلك عندما يكون الثدي أقل احتقاناً أو في نفس اليوم من كل شهر في حال انقظاع الطمث.
تأكدي عزيزتي أنه لن يأخذ من وقتك أكثر من عشرة دقائق .
هذا الفحص يكشف 25 % من الحالات
2- أشعة الثدي كل سنة إلى سنتين عند بلوغك الأربعين يكشف 90 % من الحالات
3- فحص دوري للثديين عند طبيبة أخصائية ، هذا الفحص يكشف 40 % من الحالات.
مراقبتك لحالتك الصحية ليست علامة قلق زائد أو مفرط بل خطوة ذكية للعمل .
ومثل زيارة طبيب الأسنان ، وضع واقي الشمي ، الأكل الصحي .. فمتابعة الخطوات السليمة لصحة الثدي هي الخطوة التي لا بد العمل بها .
كل شهر .. بعد انتهاء الدورة الشهرية مباشرة أو نفس اليوم من كل شهر في حالة انقطاع الطمث . افحصي ثدييك بالنظر والملمس ، متبعة خطوات الفحص كما ذكر في هذا الموقع
تذكري .. أن تحاولين النظر في الشكل والاحساس لثدييك ، لتتمكني من اكتشاف أي تغيرات مبكراً .
حقائق فليلة يجب أن تذكر :
- 80% من أورام الثدي حميدة وليست سرطانية
- الإكتشاف المبكر من أهم العوامل للحياة ومعدل الشفاء من سرطان الثدي يصل إلى 90% في حالة الاكتشاف المبكر
- السرطان في المراحل المبكرة يمكن استئصاله مع المحافظة على الثدي
خطوات لصحة الثدي :
عديد من النساء تعتقد أن نسبة الإصابة بسرطان الثدي تقل مع التقدم في العمر . بل العكس صحيح ، نسبة الإصابة تزيد مع التقدم في العمر ولا يعني هذا أن النساء الصغيرات تهمل صحة ثديها بل لابد أن تحرص على مراقبة نفسها وتبدأ بذلك مبكراً .
إذا كان عمرك 50 سنة وما فوق :
- الفحص الذاتي للثدي شهرياً .
- فحص الثدي سنوياً من خلال طبيب العائلة أو طبيب مختص
- عمل أشعة الثدي (ماموغرام) مرة كل سنة.
إذا كان عمرك 40 سنة وما فوق :
- الفحص الذاتي للثدي شهرياً .
- فحص الثدي سنوياً من خلال طبيب العائلة أو طبيب مختص
- عمل أشعة الثدي (ماموغرام) مرة كل سنتين .
إذا كان عمرك 30 سنة وما فوق :
- الفحص الذاتي للثدي شهرياً .
- فحص الثدي سنوياً من خلال طبيب العائلة أو طبيب مختص
إذا كان عمرك 20 سنة وما فوق :
- الفحص الذاتي للثدي شهرياً .
- فحص الثدي خلال طبيب مختص مرة كل 3 سنوات .

كتيب .. أهمية الاكتشاف المبكر
I was lucky to get to hang out with the Earth-twin drone to the Ingenuity Helicopter that is currently flying on Mars. I was invited by Syracuse University to witness the demonstration and talk by the amazing scientists and engineers at AeroVironment who designed and developed the drone.
Terri is an functioning demonstration vehicle that differs from its Mars counterpart in a number of ways - but it is functionally the same. We were treated to 3 flights under the Dome during a rainy morning.
I am continually amazed by the *ingenuity* (ha!) of the human species.
