TEMPLO DE SANTO DOMINGO (OU QORIKANCHA)
A mais importante obra da arquitetura Inca em Cusco. Construído pelo Imperador Inca Pachacuti (1400-1471), o nono governante do Império Inca. Feito de pedras polidas que se encaixam perfeitamente, era um local de rituais e oferendas ao deus Sol, cultuado pelos Incas. Diz a lenda que as paredes eram totalmente revestidas com lâminas de ouro, mas tudo foi destruído pelos conquistadores espanhóis, que sobre ele ergueram uma Igreja/Convento: Igreja de Santo Domingo. O grande terremoto de 1950, a Igreja teve que ser reconstruída, destruiu a construção dos padres dominicanos e expôs o Templo do Sol, que resistiu firmemente ao terremoto, graças às técnicas incas de construção. Esta teria sido a segunda vez que a construção dos Dominicanos fora destruída, sendo que a primeira vez fora em 1650 quando a construção espanhola era bem diferente.
