Long Island City, NY from the 59th Street Bridge. Gantry Plaza Park contains a 120-foot-long, 60-foot-high cursive, ruby-colored, neon-on-metal Pepsi-Cola sign, manufactured by the Artkraft Strauss Sign Corporation in 1936. It was located on top of the bottling plant before it was dismantled and reassembled into a permanent location within the park in 2009. The Pepsi-Cola sign was designated a New York City landmark on April 12, 2016.

It It is very strange to think about this message being written by a girl just graduating from high school.
Many of the album pages also feature some beautiful little illustrations in pen and ink or watercolor, which are still remarkably vibrant after aging for more than 100 years.
Opened on May 7, 1958, this Sears store at the Laurelwood Shopping Center in East Memphis, Tennessee is 4 floors, and originally had the cursive logo and penthouse office suites occupied by the Memphis and Shelby County Gardening Club. Those offices have long been vacant, but it seems like now it is either being used as a break room or something else for the employees. According to a permit filed in 1994, this Sears underwent a million-dollar renovation, which included new flooring, ceiling, paint, and other miscellaneous replacements. The exterior was largely unaffected by these renovations. According to assessor records, this store includes 193,524 square feet of space. This store also has an auto center which is still operating today. Sadly, the gas station that was also built by Sears was demolished at an unknown time.
Boy, is photography ever a surprise! Though I've seen Cursive many times before, I'd never actually photographed them, particularly Tim Kasher. Cursive's music is as passionate as it is poetic but I never thought they would be this fun to photograph. More importantly, they played my favorite song, "Sierra."

Part of the ongoing 'Thread Drawing' series, which is based on ideas around codes and lost languages - I wanted them to look like some sort of writing that you couldn't quite decode.
Cursive is made from red thread through stretched painter's canvas. I don't think of these as embroideries, to me they're very much drawings.
The shadows in this and the companion piece 'Mnemonic' were very important to me: under strong lighting the pieces change completely and become much more alive.

Oh my gawd. my hand writing bothers me. ahaha, I couldnt get it all to match and be fancy... besides I broke my pencil like 8 times haha.
other then that, I do enjoy the J, though i wish i could fix a few things looking at the picture now. : /
