*Everytime I trundle over to Germany, the first meal I have to eat is a take-away currywurst, washed down with an ice gold German beer. Currywurst Express can be found on many German railway stations. Would the marketing department be aware of the fact that FF DIN, the typeface used for the logotype, is historically connected with the German Railways? FF DIN has its roots in the standard lettering style of the Prussian Railways as from 1905. It was used for practically all German railway signage until the 1950s. Today, FF DIN rather relates with automotive aspects, but that’s another story … Here FF DIN is promoting the Standard Version of the German Currywurst at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main station).
