One day, quite a while back now, we were out in service out in the country. If I remember correctly, this was a little gravel road almost in the mountains. This actually may now be part of Madison's Territory.
Anyway, like I said, narrow road way out there. It had been raining lately, but it wasn't that day. It wasn't until we actually got all the way out to this point that we realized the road was pretty flooded.
We were going to try to cross in the van we were in, until we realized that not only was the water high, there was also a pretty strong current running through.
Instead, I snapped some pictures and two videos with my camera, and we backed down the little road awhile until we could turn around.
It's not that this flood was significant. It was just a little thing that didn't do more than inconvenience a few people for a couple of days. But in its own way, it was beautiful, and on a small scale, it gives you the idea of what can happen in a larger, more dangerous flood. It kind of teaches you to respect nature just a little more.
