Current maps and travelogues now call this Kikaua Point Park, but it has always been Kūki‘o Point to us... Kikaua is not a name I have yet seen in older, historical references for this place (not that one does not exist!) I can understand why it is much easier and better for the Kūki‘o developers to give it a different and separate name: Kikaua Park now refers to their public access designations.
* This is part of a set which chronicles a morning excursion on the Big Island of Hawai‘i’s Kūki‘o shoreline. Visit the set page for more about it or to see all the thumbnails.

This was where I stored all of my chunky necklaces. One big mess. It was really difficult to untangle at times.

The current contender for Best Damn Windows Mobile Device of 2008 is the XPERIA X1. They've been keeping the beast behind glass, but we managed to score some one on one time with it tomorrow morning.
So! What do you want to know about the XPERIA X1? Post your questions in the comments and we'll toss them at Sony Ericsson like so many darts at a target tomorrow.

June 25, 2010 - Today U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill held a forum in Troy, MO to discuss the need for broadband internet access in rural Missouri and to review ongoing efforts to expand access. McCaskill was joined by Federal Communications Chairman Julius Genachowski, who attended at McCaskill's invitation to gather input from community leaders for whom broadband access is particularly important, including members of the education, emergency response and economic development communities. Those organizations that have applied for federal broadband grants to assist Missouri in expanding access were also invited to join the conversation.
McCaskill is committed to making broadband internet access available to all Missourians, by providing the necessary resources, particularly to those in currently underserved rural areas. As a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, she believes that the expansion of broadband can strengthen Missouri communities, create economic opportunities, and improve standard of living across the state. In the past, she has fought to reform the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Broadband Loan and Loan Guarantee Program to better serve Missourians, and worked to include the expansion of broadband in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Assignment: Create a collage showing a current event.
I used Veteran's affairs, and the Iraq war. In my opinion, before entering into the war in Iraq, the government needed to make arrangements for those soldiers who were wounded in combat. They did not - in fact, veteran's affairs budgets were cut. Because of the enemy targeting extremities because of body armor, we are seeing men and women losing arms and legs, and having brain injuries. The photo of Bush was made up of portraits of men and women who lost their lives in Iraq.

Note: this was a mixed media project. I added the black box which emulates the headline I cut from Newsweek.
