These Penguins are named after the Humboldt current running from the Antarctic to the west coast of South America, Humboldt penguins are the species most commonly seen in animal collections across Europe. Not all penguins live where it is snowy and cold. Humboldt penguins are great example of this; they live amongst the rocky coasts of Chile and Peru, where it can be hot. They dig burrows in sand and guano cliffs and exploit the cold waters of the current that provide a rich harvest of fish.
