The charcuterie platter: A selection of house cured salamis, pork rillettes and toasted ficelle.
I appreciated the tasting platter but in the end found the cured meats a little bland, while the rillettes (best of the bunch) was creamy and flavourful. I liked the colourful pickled vegetable spread, but my dining companion found that there were too many contrasting flavours on a plate (namely in the curried pickled cauliflower). I didn't think that was the case, but I did think that more bread was required for the rich rillettes (which I did request from our server).

Tobacco leaves hanging in a barn, part of the curing process.
These will dry for a bit, then sawdust will be placed inside the barn and allowed to slowly burn, creating a lot of smoke, thus curing the leaves and turning them a dark caramel brown color.
During the fall, when the farmers are curing, you will see several barns "smoking" and the smell as I drive by is wonderful and is a welcome sign that fall is near.
This photo was taken near Orlinda/Springfield, Tennessee. It was a way of life and income for many for a long time, it is now slowly going by the wayside.

The Cure are an English rock band formed in Crawley, West Sussex, in 1976. The band has experienced several line-up changes, with vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter Robert Smith being the only constant member. The Cure first began releasing music in the late 1970s with their debut album Three Imaginary Boys; this, along with several early singles, placed the band as part of the post-punk and new wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s, the band's increasingly dark and tormented music was a staple of the emerging gothic rock genre.
After the release of 1982's Pornography, the band's future was uncertain and Smith was keen to move past the gloomy reputation his band had acquired. With the single "Let's Go to Bed" released the same year, Smith began to place a pop sensibility into the band's music and their popularity increased as the decade wore on, with songs like "Just Like Heaven", "Lovesong" and "Friday I'm in Love". The band is estimated to have sold 27 million albums as of 2004 and have released thirteen studio albums, ten EPs and over thirty singles during their career.
t was announced on 10 November 2015 that the Cure would embark on a 26 date North American tour in 2016 which will include their first shows in some cities in nearly a decade, and it will include their first shows at cities they have never played at yet. According to the press release the tour will feature "37 years of Cure songs, mixing hits, rarities, favourites, and as yet unreleased tracks in a brand new stage production".[86] In 2016 they are scheduled to play across Europe, ending with three concerts at London's Wembley Arena, in a tour that also includes the first Australian dates in years. I created a text drawing from a large pile of salt for my performance, Curing.
My body in motion through a room full of people, I danced the drawing during an exhibition event. For two hours straight, I repeatedly wrote in cursive script the word “remember” with salt on the floor of the gallery. The work expanded throughout the course of the evening. I moved through and around reception attendees as they viewed the show. The trails of text left behind were later swept back into the pile. The salt and tools were put away for safekeeping.
Curing was performed at Too Many Dinner Parties, a group show of new media and time-based artworks at the Art Lofts Gallery, on the UW-Madison campus.
The exhibition featured live performances, experimental and documentary video, animation, interactive sculptures, and installation work from artists in UW-Madison Art Department's 4-D area program, as well as other areas of study.
