Cuff The Duke continue to be one of my favourite bands to see perform. They played at this year's Canadian Music Fest.

In the 1800s, native peoples began to use European fabrics to fashion fine formal garments; they favored sturdy cloth, such as velvet and wool broadcloth, which provided support for heavy decorative beadwork that was added by hand. Often the fabric was a dark color, providing dramatic contrast for the multicolored beads. Rather than encrusting the entire garment, beadwork was confined to cuffs, “epaulettes,” bib-like plackets and yokes, rectangular panels sewn to leggings, shirts, and dresses, and the like.

i'm practicing stitches with different needle sizes and wools. instead of frogging (rrribbit) all the little samplers I make, I decided to do something with a couple. the wool is actually raspberry pink, not red...although the coloring in the photo also makes me look less pale than I actually am. haha.

Stunning copper cuff bracelet. Made from a two inch piece of 24 gauge copper sheet metal that has been folded, hammered, then unfolded, rolled and inked with alcohol inks. A mix of Citrus, Sailboat Blue and Watermelon created a perfect red patina to the copper. Edges have been filed smooth. Pinch tighten.

Cuff The Duke made me proud of my Oshawa heritage for the first time ever as they played a show that will definitely find a place in my year end top 5 best shows of 2008. Absolutely amazing!
A lovely turquoise cuff bracelet. The cuff itself is sterling. The top 3 stones are a greener color than the other stones. I do not know if these were replacement stones or this is how it was originally made. A great cuff for casual wear.

i put this in the shop as a made to order. but this exact one is part of a looooong overdue trade (there's one other item I'm finishing now) for a certain someone (you know who you are). she's probably about to send the trade po-lice after me :) but her package is going out in the mail today. i hope she likes it after all this time!!

This is a one of a kind, leather and Copper heart cuff. Recycled leather was used to to create the cuff. A copper heart was cut out of a sheet of etched copper that was bought from this Etsy shop.
