Week Forty ~ Cuddle Buddy
Our lyrical prompt for Week 40 of The Photographer Within's P52 was from Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and the lyrics we had to shoot were: "If I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?" Some days, I just need to lay here, to be still, to embrace the quiet… some days because of chronic pain, some days because the kids had tough days at school, some days because I’m grateful for some space. Charlie is my constant companion on these days, he is my cuddle buddy. He helps me forget the world… even if just for a few blissful moments.
Day 5
Didn't go on the dog walk with the family. But managed to grab one of Ginger after she came inside and before the light faded.

Our neighbor's kids found a kitten drowning on a pool liner after some wicked storms a couple weeks ago. Our neighbor rescued the kitten just in time and kept it in her shirt for five hours to get it warm. Though their daughter is severely allergic, they have built an area for the kittens and the scrawny mommy to stay outside, using tents and baby gates. All the neighborhood kids come to play, our neighbors and I feed them and we all chase away animals and other cats so they're not bothered. Rudy is going to a home this weekend while Cuddles and the very lovey dovey Mommy don't have definite homes yet. I wish we could take them but we can barely afford the four that we have with three having medical conditions! They are so sweet... EDIT: a nearby school teacher is taking the Mommy and Cuddles as long as they test negative for FIV!!!

Back home from my first assignment, alive and well!
Went to a Gorkha Learning for Life meeting, packed my shit up ready to leave the next day for my second assignment, and then spent the rest of the day cuddling the little mister.

The definition of 'cuddle':
1. The empty act of pretending there is any more left after coitus.
2. Laying in between warm sheets feeling cold.
3. Skin against skin, yet miles apart.
Ruby has it rough growing up. Coming from a prostitute background, he is forced to follow his mother's footsteps. There is no meaning to it all and he feels cold inside. Refusing to end up like his mother, he eventually tries to break free. But getting out of a background of prostitution feels like fighting quicksand. It won't be easy.
