Cute scene from the National Zoo, i was hoping at least one of these turned out! These guys were really rolly polly in the afternoon and just taking easy like otters should!

In contrast to last weeks shot of how tough Kelly can look, this is the other side of Kelly :)
A sweet, cute cuddle monster. We have some stuffed toys (dogs) on our bed. Every so often Kelly will cuddle up with one of them in the cutest ways. It's so freaking adorable!
I gave this shot a warm sepia treatment.
I'm on call overnight right now. That means I sleep in the other room to avoid having the phone calls disturb my husband. In my call room I have a cot-sized bed. . . two phones calls after two a.m. disturbed my sleep. The cats capitalized on my awakeness, descending on my bed. Cumin and Raven were already snuggled with me when the phone rang. . . Curio joined. Then MoMo kneaded the bed--four-pawed, of course--down by my feet before settling down. Ariel hopped onto my pillow, and finally Gumbo climbed on board. Nothing is more comfy, cozy than six cats with me on a cot: Ariel by my head, Raven in my left arm, Curio in my right, Cumin at my left hip, Gumbo perched across my thighs, and MoMo between my feet. I was feeling bad for Vidalia, wherever she was, and even called her name softly. Vidalia didn't come but neither did the calls interrupt my husband's snoring from down the hall. I think Vidalia misses her daughter. I suspect she and Kiwi would have been snuggled together some place at a time like this. . . for that matter, I know Curiosity misses Kiwi, too. Not for the cuddling but for the wrestling. The older cats just aren't quite as receptive to his antics. . .

Bobaloo and Jeffrey Eisner and Dennis Griffin and myself become a tangle of limbs during an impromptu cuddle party that erupted last weekend.
We had a snowstorm last night, and it's time for me to go out and dig. It's Sunday morning, so I have to get to work!
It seems appropriate to leave you with two images of animals cuddling. It's a great way to stay warm on a day like this!

For We're Here and on hand
I've not slept well this past few weeks, lots of things up in the air and stress is building up. Thankfully I got a little nap this evening cuddled to a nice warm body :)
Week Forty ~ Cuddle Buddy
Our lyrical prompt for Week 40 of The Photographer Within's P52 was from Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and the lyrics we had to shoot were: "If I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world?" Some days, I just need to lay here, to be still, to embrace the quiet… some days because of chronic pain, some days because the kids had tough days at school, some days because I’m grateful for some space. Charlie is my constant companion on these days, he is my cuddle buddy. He helps me forget the world… even if just for a few blissful moments.
