Kirstin and I went to the Australiana Day at Caboolture Historical Village, which was held a little later this year due to the storms and floods of Australia Day this year.

James, 4 1/2, completed his second book for AWANA Cubbies at church.

It seems like every year I am redoing the layout of my studio to make it more efficient for my needs. This studio makeover is an easy fairly inexpensive way to both gain more work area and storage space. I share my studio with my little Holland Lop Barley, whose cage takes up an enormous amount of room. Then there was my studio easel, paint supplies, crafting supplies, and most recently miniature making supplies. I tell you there was no more room in this small studio for me! If you like to see more photos of my studio visit my blog portraits-by-nc.com/blogs/news/studio-makeover

Sadly not a full size archway and colored room, but a cubby the size of small teddy bear.

This is where the nurses do the bulk of our charting. We are constantly fighting residents for the computers.

This is my place to dream, read, think, retreat. I long for a real window seat someday... one with a cushion seat and room to stretch out my legs and lots of bright light and maybe a filmy curtain to contain it away from the rest of the world...

The little guy in the center must have known I was looking!

...Jay and Ryan worked for three days on. ...two on their backs on the floor to be able to shape them, frame them and then attach them.

This one of the two times in this whole project I've heard Jay swear. (He's heard me swear about twice every hour for the last 5 months.)

I made some chocolate cookies and that seemed to help. At least I hope it did.
