EAST CHINA SEA (Nov. 6, 2021) Aviation Electricians Mate 3rd Class Elmuth Pinedaflores, from Hillsboro, Oregon, conducts a maintenance inspection on an MH-60R Sea Hawk, assigned to the āWarlordsā of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 51, aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105). Dewey is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navyās largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleetās principal surface force. WATERS TO THE EAST OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA (March 9, 2016) Marines attached to Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron (VMM) 166 (Reinforced) perform flight operations in a UH-1Y Venom helicopter during exercise Ssang Yong 2016. Ssang Yong is a biennial combined amphibious exercise conducted by forward-deployed U.S. forces with the Republic of Korea Navy and Marine Corps, Australian Army and Royal New Zealand Army Forces in order to strengthen our interoperability and working relationships across a wide range of military operations - from disaster relief to complex expeditionary operations. SASEBO, Japan (Jan. 23, 2018) The amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) departs Fleet Activities Sasebo as part of a Naval Surface Forces-led two-day readiness for sea assessment that examines propulsion, navigation and watch team proficiency, which certifies a ship as deployment ready. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
