On top of the building is erected a massive statue (16.6 feet tall) of a lady holding aloft a flaming torch in her right hand. In her left hand is a spoked wheel.

Dad's 1968 Chevrolet C20, CST Longbed Stepside. 396 V8.
In 1973, the brother on the right would drive this truck under the side of a fully loaded semi trailer. The truck driver never even felt the impact and continued making his left turn. He eventually felt resistance at some point and saw the truck going further under the trailer as he looked in his mirror.
My brother blew through a red light not paying attention and crashed into the steel dolly wheels at the front of the trailer, but as the truck continued turning the pick up got dragged under the trailer more and more.
Crazy chaotic scenes outside the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), formerly the Victoria Terminus, in Mumbai. Built in 1887, the Gothic extravaganza was inspired by St Pancras Station in London. Nearly three million people pass through the station every day. It has UNESCO World Heritage status.

The mine at grande cache is very quiet. too quiet, the mine shut down yet again due to a downturn in coal prices worldwide.
The mine was the catalyst for the town of Grande Cache being created in 1969. ever since then it has experienced the boom and bust cycle. the mine was once just a underground operation. converted to open pit mining, the mine has most recently closed in spring 2020.
Now owned by CST canada who knows what will happen. the adjacent HR. Milner power station was built in 1972 and was converted to gas in 2015. the plant has been closed since 2016 due to record low power prices.
CN serves the mine and when in operation moves 100 car coal trains south on the Grande Cache sub to join the mainline.
Overslept on a train back to Mumbai and landed up at the CST at 6:00 early one morning. Since sunrise was going to be a few minutes later, I decided to wait it out and watch it light up the sky behind this beautiful monument.
45 minutes later, sleep deprived and late for work, I was ready to call it quits when the sun burst through illuminating the sky..... It was worth the wait.
