Model of CSS Virginia, the former USS Merrimack. It's been six yeas since I took the picture, but I believe the bar is a piece of the casement armor to the Virginia. Photo taken at Hampton Roads Naval museum located on the second floor of Nauticus in Norfolk, Virginia.
