#riseandgrind This is one #throwback you don't want. In order to move forward you will have to let go of things from your past, including people, that may be holding you back from the kind of life you want. Don't be afraid to remove those shackles because anyone worth having will find a way back to you. How many of us have been mad at God? How many of us still are? How vain are we to ever think that God is “out to get us?” He loves each of us deeply and wants what is in our best interest, more than we want it for ourselves. Yet, we continue to indulge in the very things that He warned us not to do, listening to the serpent, as it tells us, “You will not surely die,” and then blaming God for the consequences!

😉

“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your vision is clear, your whole body also is full of light. But when it is poor, your body is full of darkness.”

I love the Chronicles of Narnia along with many of C.S. Lewis' works.

I gave in, and admitted that God was God.

Does this remind you of anything?

Tonight after work I headed over to a cafe that is also a bookstore to meet some friends for a trivia competition. I was there early, so I did some browsing in the bookstore and happened upon this oddly-chosen book cover. Yes, that is a C.S. Lewis book with a cover almost (but not quite) identical to the cover of Twilight. What.

I wish I had any pictures from the actual trivia night for you, but I totally got caught up and forgot to even get my camera out! It was a great time, and our team won! One round was entirely about vice presidents, so I helped us kick ass with my U.S. history geekiness. Also helpful was the bonus round in which you had to draw a strange animal and my friend Winter chose to draw a "mechanical raptor unicorn", complete with frickin' lasers. I really, really wish I'd taken a picture of that, because they didn't give it back to her :(
