She was crying because I wouldn't let her sit with the big kids at the Little Dumplings playgroup. I couldn't let her because they were doing different activities. It only lasted a few minutes. I still think she is adorable, tears and all.
Playing around with lighting when I got my new tripod.
Took the photo for a photo forum competition. Theme: Liquid Motion. I managed 3rd place!
Can i get your attention? Will you show me you care? Can't you see I'm calling out to you? Show me you love me. Hold me. Give me a hug. Kiss my hurt away.
"Opus sectile is an art technique popularized in the ancient and medieval Roman world where materials were cut and inlaid into walls and floors to make a picture or pattern. Common materials were marble, mother of pearl, and glass. The materials were cut in thin pieces, polished, then trimmed further according to a chosen pattern. Unlike tessellated mosaic techniques, where the placement of very small uniformly sized pieces forms a picture, opus sectile pieces are much larger and can be shaped to define large parts of the design." This room was discovered in the excavations of Ostia antica, the ancient port town of Rome, decades after its first discovery and opening: was hidden in a secondary housing, buried under other materials as most likely the decoration was never finished. It was about to be laid on the walls as it has been found still on the ground like materials ready to be used. The whole room was supposed to be decorated in this fashion, and this amazing display shows the incredible level achieved by roman artists and craftmans
Story of the picture
•While it's cousins are hunting in the vast wild, this poor tiger struggles to survive in a dead end situation.
•Chained to the floor, this beauty is forced to pose to the endless amount of people taking pictures.
•Why? Why keep it like that? Sometimes people are being too obsessed about making our lives better, while as a matter of fact, they're ruining other creature's lives.
•While everyone was taking pictures with the tiger, there was this one moment when it looked at me with sorrow and despair. Couldn't help not take a picture.
How it was captured:
•Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T2i
•Lens: 18-55mm
