Rothenburg ob der Tauber is one the best-preserved medieval cities in Germany and undoubtedly one of the prettiest towns on the Romantic Road.
The most photographed bit of Rothenburg is the Plönlein a fork in the road at the south end of town where Spitalgasse, the main road, is split in two by a half-timbered house and both branches run under city gates just beyond, the Siebers Tower and the Kobolzeller Gate.
I got there early in the morning and missed the crowds of tourists.

Wonderful sunshine and a chance to check on my favourite little clump of wild snowdrops next to a footpath near home. They were barely out last time I visited, but look at them now!

I was in central London yesterday taking a few photos over in Docklands and decided to pop across to Buckingham Palace, maybe to see the flowers following The Queen's death. Events were taking place elsewhere (St James' Palace and The Royal Exchange in The City) so thought it may be quieter. I was wrong. This was the closest I could get comfortably. I would advise all, even those living in Greater London like me, to watch these historic events on TV.
