This squirrel found the crotch of this tree a perfect point for observing me, and anything else in the area, safely above it all. In our yard near Beaverton, Oregon

The Leica M6, gets out of my way and lets me take pictures. Not to sound like Ken Rockwell, but it really does. Lots of other cameras get out of the way too, but the M6 becomes part of my hand in a way the others don't. Its body is a perfect example of form following function, the round sides enveloping the film spool and cartridge lending themselves perfectly to my grip.

Fast and nimble in handling like the Honda Fireblade motorcycle, a classic crotch rocket.

One of the things the M6 can't do is make me a better photographer, but maybe for a few moments it allows me to feel I am better than I am.

While I don't drink the Leica Cool-Aid I do allow myself an occasional sip.

I took a picture of dark and light sand patterns on Fascadale beach. Having processed the image I then sat and pondered what title I could give it. I've tended to find I 'see' something in the sand pattern very quickly and I end up calling it what I see. But in the name of art, can I get away with "The Crotch"?
