Back in the woods again. Patchy sunlight illuminated this dark corner of Ferns, I found the colours and shapes very attractive.

A westbound autorack train passes the twin cantilever signals that guarded the crossovers just west of Wellton. Unfortunately, these were replaced just a few months later.
A local American-Mexican riding club put on a dandy presentation of riding skill at our Iowa Horse Show. In this scene one of the riders switches from his horse to rein in a bareback like they use to do in the old west.
The lighting was tough on this image with the bright openings behind but I think it was good enough to post .
Twas foggy on the hills as the north bound boxes run towards Inverness between Slochd and Moy. The A9 takes a different route around the hill with light traffic on the main road north / south.
This is my second visit to this beautiful waterfalls near Portland. The name is Panther Creek Falls. It was nearly sunset when I took the shoots. So it was actually much darker than the photo shows.

On a rather warm March 21, 1972, Alco RSD15 9820 leads a westbound mixed freight at Franconia, Arizona. Franconia, at the time, consisted of sidings off both the westward and eastward main tracks and a crossover between the two mains. This location is on the Kingman District, 36 miles west of Kingman. The Sacramento Wash is to the right of the photo. The 9820 was one of the locomotives selected for preservation by Santa Fe, and was subsequently donated to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento–––photo by Joe McMillan.
About a mile and a half of coal is rolling down the hill about ten miles south of Bill, WY. The Union Pacific train, led by a new Tier 4 SD70ACe (SD70AH) is stretched out through the 90.5 crossover on the Orin Subdivision.
Rarely used part of the rail systems in rural Nova Scotia. One line runs directly into a concrete production facility.
