Meet the amigurumi gnome,Wangdu and the amigurumi flower fairy,Blossom.Wangdu loves to sit out in the sunshine with his story book,reading out aloud to the little fairy folk who gather around him to hear his tales."Come sit by me,I'll read you a story".
The amigurumi gnome measures approximately 4.5 inches and the flower fairy measures approximately 3.5 inches

I designed these while creating a “final challenge” project for my Introduction to Slip Stitch Crochet class.
I like the easy and practical contrast of two kinds of back loop slip stitch, the optional experience of striping, and of shaping the ribbed cuff.
They are quick to make as is, or longer/wider. At the Chain Link conference, they will also keep a crocheter’s hands warm in the A/C!
"Luckyslip" fingerless mitt 100% crocheted of Bosnian slip stitch and ribbing.
Detail of test of a bobble. The bobbles melt away in this mitt, partly because of the tweedy texture of the yarn, and partly because of the stitch type I used.
Yarn: Imperial Yarns Columbia; 2 plies, mulespun, medium high s-twist. It's listed as a medium wt., but stitches up like a chunky weight.
Close up of sliding 'flower basket' clasp. "Reclaimed" because the aquamarine gem chips are recycled from an old necklace.
"Poem" because of the river goddess Sabrina (Severn) referred to by John Milton in my all-time most favorite verse from 'Comus' beginning with "Sabrina Fair, listen where though art sitting" and ending with
....Goddess of the silver lake, listen and save."
Yarn is 100% sugar cane derived, so another poetic aspect of it for me is how the aquamarine chips look like sugar crystals, and how sweet water can taste sometimes.
Got wool? Flurry the sheep has infinite amount of wool to keep you warm and comfy during winter. During spring, Flurry likes to hangout in the meadows for a vegan buffet.

This beautiful hand crochets BLUE HAT-PATTERN made by my using cotton yarn, pretty stitching all around.Instruction are given for hat and detachable brooch(2 flowers and 2 leaves) as the finishing touch.
Crocheted Lady Kokeshi Dolls
The real traditional Kokeshi dolls feature oversized heads, are armless and legless, and are carved in Japan. They were vintage tourist gifts, brought home from hot springs visits. Various areas developed particular styles and characteristics within the genre.
I saw some of the wood originals that resembled elegant ladies. This pattern is inspired by them.
The pattern includes instructions for two sizes of dolls, several hair/wig styles and several obi (wrap/sash) styles. The smaller doll is about 6.5 inches using the hook and yarn size prescribed.
