This is the main staircase in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB) which is part of the White House complex in Washington, D.C.

It was built between 1871 and 1888, on the site of the original 1800 War/State/Navy Building and the White House stables, in the French Second Empire style. As its first name suggests, it was initially built to house three departments. While the building's elaborate style received substantial criticism at first, it has since been designated as a National Historic Landmark. It was for years the world's largest office building, with 566 rooms and about 10 acres (40,000 m2) of floor space. Most White House staff have their offices in the EEOB.–from Wikipedia

Look in to my eyes...

Sri Lankan leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) taken at Yala NP Sri Lanka. This big cat walked towards our jeep, then crossed to the other side. See the focal length.

The Sri Lankan leopard has a tawny or rusty yellow coat with dark spots and close-set rosettes, which are smaller than in Indian leopards.

A Secretary Bird. What an expressive face...

Lives in a bird park and is shown there sometimes to be introduced to the people to meet such an exotic beautiful bird. With him often also appears "socks", a pretty invalid Secretary bird lady. She had once broken one of her legs and it had to be amputated. A friendly person with the right knowledge and equipment made her with his 3-D printer a leg prosthesis, with which she runs through the area as if it had never been different. This bird always touches my heart.. a soft spot for birdy heroes in it! :-D

Today was the perfect photo day. Best weather, beautiful light, free time.. so we went to our favourite birding spot at the North Sea coast. And this was a good decision. We met so many different birds, including a whtie tailed eagle, great egeret, varoius ducks in beautiful mating plumage, and so on.

Here, we see the mating dance of a pair of Mute Swans.

I went there in the morning where on a sunny day the sun is exactly between the two silos, but unfortunately on this day it was cloudy :-(
