Me: Setting up camera and tripod on public sidewalk.
Homeland Security: pulls up in security vehicle... "Hey what are you doing? Taking pictures?"
Me: "Yep."
Homeland Security: Staring at me in silence
Me: "I don't know what that is but it sure looks really interesting."
Homeland Security: "That there is CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE!"
Me: Not really sure what to say... "OK then, just going to be taking some pictures."
Homeland Security: Watches from vehicle as I make my exposures then follows me back to my vehicle where he appears to be writing down my license plate number.
I shot this several times and was approached by security every time. I was told that photographing this was prohibited but that they couldn't do anything about it because I was on a public sidewalk. I am probably now on some terrorist watch list, hope it was worth it.

Cybersecurity High-Risk Series: Challenges in Establishing a Comprehensive Cybersecurity Strategy and Performing Effective Oversight
In Afghanistan, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is building water, power, and transportation projects as well as Afghan National Security Forces facilities to enable security and stability in the nation. Did you know though, construction remains one of the most dangerous industries in the world? The best defense against near misses or worse is prevention through education, training and awareness. When an accident, incident, or near miss occurs at a district job site, Geronimo Gomez, a safety and occupational health specialist with the USACE Transatlantic Afghanistan District, investigates; identifying all the possible factors in his pursuit to determine the causes resulting in the unfortunate event, eliminate hazards and prevent future accidents.

Afghanistan Engineer District-South marked its inactivation after four years of delivering critical infrastructure projects in Afghanistan with a ceremony held on Kandahar Airfield July 11.
Over the course of four years, the district’s technical experts completed nearly 200 projects valued at $1.4 billion that improved the safety, security and well-being of Afghans, US and Coalition Forces.
As more projects have been completed and Afghans are assuming the lead in operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure, the scale of operations has decreased. So too has the need for the South District. In its place now stands the smaller South Area Office of Transatlantic Afghanistan District, with a newly established headquarters in Kabul.

Apparently someone across the street was shooting up the Food and Drug Administration offices in Bothell. So the Ministry of Motherland Security came out in force and cordoned off the whole neighborhood with trucks and vans and fire engines and cop cars and constant deliveries of subway sandwiches.
No doubt I am on The List for taking this photo,

Our contractor-partners begin prepping for winter maintenance on a foggy river morning at Lock and Dam 4, in Alma, Wisconsin, Dec. 14. On this morning the crew was in the initial stages of conducting guidewall repairs. Eventually crews will pump concrete into voids within the guidewall structures, which serve as extensions of lock walls to guide vessels into the lock chamber and provide mooring for long tows. The repairs are also being done at Locks and Dams 5 and 5A to ensure our critical infrastructure remains serviceable, with work scheduled to end spring 2019 before the navigation season starts back up.
