In 1970, there were less than 10 breeding pairs of Bald Eagles in Ontario. They were a species at risk due to heavy pesticide use after WW11. Now there are an estimated 1400 pairs in our province. We see them frequently on our hikes and even flying over our home. It is a great success story for them.
This week there was an eagle circling above us for a few minutes, obviously on the hunt. I captured him in flight and made this composite for Sliders Sunday. I used a wood grain pattern image from my collection to give some texture in the background.
I dropped some money and when I looked down this is what I saw. Well maybe I adjusted it a bit. I have to say I did get a smile out of it, that’s a good thing giving all that’s is going on these days.
# archival supersampler multiple exposure, featuring some lovely poppies, typically an enjoyable subject. I appreciate the visit, incidentally. skäl!
# i post this for fiona (from australia) who i collaborated with years back. fi was/is wickedly witty and, at times, simply wicked... very endearingly so. I used the same lomo cam that shot this in our cpp images, and the cam produced a scratch across the center of the negative in both cases. fi gave me [censored] for it, dubbing this imperfection "the wicked scratch." i've fixed/brought supersamplers back from the dead, but never corrected the "problem" that scratches film in this particular instrument. sorry, fi. but wherever you are, i make a rare trona dedication, if you will, to..... well, you! salud. i hope you're copasetic, happy, still wonderfully and creatively crazed, and enjoying tapas each afternoon!
# music: r.e.m., e-bow the letter (new adventures in hi-fi)
In the fall through time and space
Awoken from a dream
Just a moment
Then the night returns
Somehow begins sometime
somewhere the future

~Happy Slider Sunday~
A walk on a gray day provided some inspiration to see in black and white and then play a little with some edits.
Happy Sliders Sunday!
Job 16:8 “My wrinkles bear witness against me, and a false speaker riseth up against my face, contradicting me.”
This is another attempt to create a composite image using the wood grains I photographed over time. We are so lucky to live near the Great Lakes and this is where we spend most of our summers camping or spending the day. Happy Slider Sunday!
I knew there was a Bald Eagle along the shoreline somewhere, but I was distracted by this cool ice arch... notice that black lump on the far right... there he is! I missed him!
Having a little fun editing with filters... Happy Sliders Sunday
It is always interesting to see how much growth there is in a crevice... having a little fun creating these swirling ferns ferns. Happy Sliders Sunday!
