Today's inspiration comes from a fellow Flickr friend and photographer, hailing from the deserts of Arizona… though this picture he posted was certainly NOT in Arizona (Unless there really is some ocean-front property there).
My friend has such a wonderful eye, and better than that a great sense of humor- his only flaw is that I don't get to see more of his wonderful photography!

After my last big climb, I had told myself I would not do any more long hikes by myself (or at all)- and then I felt so sad and unsatisfied after such a tremendous climb… and I spent weeks trying to understand what I felt and why.
After a lot of soul searching, praying and talking I have decided to do one more major climb- but I am going to do it next year in 2027. Sadly, our Colorado camping adventures also will take a hiatus until 2027, so this fall is going to be a little hard on me- but it was the right decision to wait a year and train.

I hated that there was a period in my life where I had put down writing in my journal. I had a lot of reasons to step away, I just wish I hadn’t. Now there are very few days where I don’t journal at least two pages a day, and when I am sick or traveling I typically make up for any day missed!

It is hard to believe, but in a few days the third volume of my journal will come to a close, and my fourth volume will begin.
Each volume is 3,000 pages so it certainly takes some time to write through them. I think back to when I started my current journal- where I was in life, what I was going through, and most certainly how far I have come physically, emotionally, mentally, and much more.
Here's to the excitement and scary moments that are ahead of me... thanks for being a part of the journey!

Last step in my process is to color it in. I always use colored pencils from various brands (some are great, some are absolutely not). I never profess to be an artist, and that shows when it comes to coloring in the objects on my pages- but art is never about perfection.
I will add the original photo that inspired my eye in the comments. If you get a chance check out the photographer's full photo stream- very cool shots with a great eye for photography!
