â–¶ "Pollinator species such as insects, birds, lizards, and mammals are crucial to our food production. About 75% of US food-crops depend on these pollinators.
Pollinator gardens support and maintain native pollinators [such as eastern black swallowtails] by supplying pollen and nectar using a variety of native plants [such as milkweed], depending on the location and the natural pollinator species of the area."

Overseer Olaf
As a very young cat, Olaf is the overseer of the house. He is curious, playful, funny and he has to check everything.

Dahlia ‘Margaret Haggo’ (Dahlia). This genus has upright and bushy, early summer and early autumn flowering, tuberous, deciduous annuals and perennials. They bear pinnatifid or pinnatisect, mid green leaves and disc-shaped flowers.
For about 4-5 weeks at the end of each year, the center of New Zealand's South Island bursts into color. Purple and pink and blue and yellow lupins sprout up along lake sides and in riverbeds in Mackenzie Country, making the already-stunning views even more incredible.
Lupins are not native to New Zealand – in fact, they're classified as an invasive species – but there's no denying that they are beautiful and make for a great photo backdrop.
A California Scrub-Jay pauses amid a patch of clover flowers. Known for their striking blue feathers and sharp intelligence, these bold birds are common sights in California’s open spaces and backyards.
Castle Stalker, Scotland.
Castle Stalker is a tower house set on a tidal islet on Loch Laich, an inlet of Loch Linnhe. It is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-east of Port Appin, Argyll, Scotland, and is visible from the A828 road about midway between Oban and GlenCoe. The islet is accessible (with difficulty) from the shore at low tide. The island castle is one of the best-preserved medieval tower-houses to survive in western Scotland.
In recent times, the castle was brought to fame by the Monty Python team, appearing in their film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Shonen Knife - Sheena is a Punk Rocker
Another one from last year, I remember working on this one for hours without it ever coming out right so when I came across it recently I decided to give it another go, I used a trick I learned recently in processing (see below)
Camera: Panasonic FZ8 point and shoot
Lens: Opteka .45x wide angle conversion lens
Exposure: 1/30
Aperture: f/5
Focal Length: 28 mm
ISO: 100
Exposure bias: -2,0,+2
Processing:
-Converted the three RAW files to TIFF using RAW Therapee.
-Blended the three TIFF files using Photomatix's Exposure Fusion (adjust)
-De-noised using Topaz Denoise.
-Used Essential HDR for tonemapping.
-Used Topaz Adjust for minor exposure tweaks.
This really seems to help keep good detail without a bunch of noise typical with my point and shoot.
Easy as pie! :-)
