... collage of some of what my camera saw last week ...

I composed this image as a response to my ongoing self-challenge: "Construct a creative image of a common household object." This photograph is of water running down a Rain Chain, and splashing on a hard surface. I cropped and then heightened some colour, and flipped the image, but otherwise didn't edit the photograph.

Originating from Japan, rain chains are artistic alternatives to traditional downspouts. They are essentially a series of decorative cups or shapes chained together, which guide rainwater from roof gutters down to the ground. When it rains, the water cascades down the chain to create a beautiful waterfall effect.

Rain chains are an environmentally conscious choice for rainwater management. By guiding rainwater directly into the ground, a barrel or a garden, they reduce the amount of water that ends up in storm drains, lessening the strain on local water treatment facilities. As an added bonus, rain chains are often made from recycled materials and contribute to a circular economy and reduced environmental impact.

I have created a Flickr Album entitled "At Home Creatives" where a selection of similarly-themed photographs will be found. I invite you to visit and I hope you enjoy.

I placed the ornamental cabbage leaves on a tray full of sand and then photographed from low horizon.

Hope you may like this simple innovative idea. It came to my mind like a flash when I was trimming my ornamental cabbages.

The old Alexander mansion sat atop a hill overlooking town. No one really remembered who lived there before or when it was built, it's as if it just appeared one day, and always sat vacant. Of course the old timers around town would tell stories of their youth, always claiming that someone they knew lived there, but couldn't quite remember who. It was dubbed the Alexander mansion after the original cornerstone was found with the name carved into it.

Over the years it turned into that scary vacant house that kids would dare each other to enter on Halloween. Older kids would hang out around there drinking beer and leaving graffiti and trash behind. No one ever saw anyone coming and going for repairs, but any vandalism would always get cleaned up and repaired as if overnight.

There's a legend that one townsperson receives an invitation to the Alexander mansion on All Hallow's Eve, I always assumed it was another tale until I received my own...

Stranraer’s first professional mural. Part of the ‘Creative Stranraer’ regeneration project. Stranraer past, present and future. Note the importance of Oysters and curling and our lovely Belted Galloway cattle! Created by Tragic O’Hara.

Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland.

This quirky piece of sculpture made of old fruit crates is in the centre of the fast food stands at the Victoria Markets.

this is my "take" on something I saw eons ago at The Vines...to see such an overload of creativeness was flabbergasting.....nothing does justice to being there but I wanted to do something and in my style......and spent this day on it...

When your creativity disappears and all you can do is stare at your projects and hope the spark comes back soon.

And I'll hold You higher, cause You put the light in me.

Happy leap year day! :)

I cannot wait to go on another photoshoot. asjdkasjdkaksd

Last night at the Camera Club I entered a photo of this sunset without the swirls and the judge said the water didn't hold her interest enough. So I jazzed it up a little.

Created for Macro Mondays, theme bookmarks. Wanted to get an old look, so used vintage lens Pentacon 29mm with extension tube
