Some 150 years ago, the British naturalist Charles Darwin proposed a theory based on various observations made during his travels, but which could not be supported by any subsequent scientific findings. In essence, his theory of evolution consisted of various scenarios, assumptions and conjectures that Darwin dreamed up in his own imagination.

According to his evolution scenario, inanimate substances came together by chance to give rise to the first living cell. No doubt this claim was highly inaccurate, and one that could not be corroborated by any scientific evidence or findings. Again according to that myth, this single-celled life form gradually-and again by chance-turned into the first living species of microbe-in other words, it evolved. According to the evolution error, all the life forms on Earth, from bacteria on up to human beings, emerged as the result of this same imaginary process.

Darwin's claims were of course based on no scientific evidence or findings. But since the scientific understanding and technological means available at the time were at a fairly primitive level, the full extent of the ridiculous and unrealistic nature of his assertions did not emerge fully into the light of day. In such a climate, Darwin's scenarios received general acceptance from a wide number of circles.

Week 20! Yeah, I'm a little surprised that it's already week 20, it's gone quickly for me.

Well, to start off, I almost forgot with how busy today is that I needed to put a picture up.

With working the craziest 8 hour shift I have ever worked and then going to a reception less then an hour later, my brain died.

Anyways...

Today I got this super awesome pin from my coworkers wife along with a headband I can't wait to wear. She makes them at home with different things.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 2:13

This has been a much needed verse today. More physically so then anything. It's been a rough day in that sense.

Some day's, we aren't struggling mentally, emotionally, or spiritually, but physically. The physical aspect has come out more for me because of work. I used to hate the idea of not ever working, but now I don't mind having a day or two off inbetween the times I work. Physical health is just as important as the rest of our health.

So remember that verse today while praying work would slow down was a big encouragement and help.

Model with thanks to Marcus Ranum

As soon as I saw the models outstretched hand a memory stirred to this classical image. With thanks to Mr Michelangelo and Marcus Ranum.

The Creation of Adam is a section of Michelangelo's fresco Sistine Chapel ceiling painted circa 1511. It illustrates the Biblical story from the Book of Genesis in which God the Father breathes life into Adam, the first man. Chronologically the fourth in the series of panels depicting episodes from Genesis on the Sistine ceiling, it was among the last to be completed.

This is an example where one curve ( the Bicorn) with a variable parameter (a)

can be made in sliceform fashion. The method is mentioned in John Sharp's book

"SURFACES: Explorations with Sliceforms". The Bicorn has parametric equations

x = a*sin(t), y = a*cos2(t)*(2+cos(t))/(3+sin2(t))

with parameter a here chosen to have the values 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 while t ranges

from - pi to pi .

This painting depicts a moment in the Haudenosaunee story of the creation of the world. The Great Spirit is standing beside an open hole in the heavens, caused by the uprooting of a tree in the Heavenly Land. A woman falls from the Sky World toward the dark watery world below. Geese fly up to slow her decent. A dog also leaps into the sky to try and rescue her. A great Turtle offers its back as a resting place, while a muskrat dives for soil to place on the turtles back, where is spreads to become an island.
