On Sep 13, 2018, I debuted my first "Co-Create" event at San Francisco Apple Store at Union Square. It is a hybrid form of a design talk followed by an interactive creative workshop with audience participation.
In my talk, I break down my creative process for designing iconic characters, such as the Twitter Fail Whale, the localization of Mickey Mouse for Disney Shanghai recruitment campaign, the dumpling emoji, as well as my newest character design inspired by the San Francisco sea lion; which not only allow audience to discover how culture elevates user experiences and drives business, but also provide them actionable steps to create. After the talk, audiences can get hands-on with iPad and Apple Pencil (Supply by the Apple Store or bring your own) to make colorful illustrations and captivating stories.

According to this exhibit, human beings did not, I repeat, did NOT, evolve from apes. See that straight line on the right? That means humans have always been completely separate from all other animals. Got it? Got it!
It's interesting because the "creation orchard" diagram on the left, actually sort of seems to imply that other animals *did* evolve, although creationism says they didn't. But as we saw later in this museum, a version of the idea of natural selection *has* been accepted by creationists. They just claim it's not the same thing as evolution.

Kids creations from the Building Block Toys workshop on April 4th, 2009 at Juan de Fuca Rec Centre.
The kids were shown concept models which they copied with the supplied bricks and eventually turned it all into a house.

I found a nifty computer desk half price at a local consignment store, perfect for where I do my work here in the Groom basement. Essentials are coffee, sound stix, and look at me, backing up to my hard drive... and doing The Daily Create!

Artists throughout history have been inspired by the mystery of creation . The enigma of birth and death, of coming and going, and of the transformation embodied in both life and the passing of life have all been the foundation for intriguing works. Vivid Sydney continues this tradition with Mystery of Creation (Fragments of the Seasons).
This poem of light and sound is a visual and aural installation projecting nature's changes onto a concrete facade (Cadmans Cottage):
Flowers blossom, only to wilt; trees wither, only to grow anew. The wind whispers in the tree; its leaves embody alchemy in the transformation of living colour, from green into yellow and red; leaves dance and drop off in a storm; and once again you see a bare tree.
The installation is a profoundly natural, visual sanctuary that offers you an escape from the everyday urban challenges of Sydney. Dive into the here and now – where inspiration becomes light, light becomes image, and both combine with a mellifluous musical accompaniment to represent the cycle of the seasons.

Cadmans Cottage is the oldest surviving residential building in Sydney, having been built in 1816 for the use of the governmental coxswains and their crews. The building is heavily steeped in the history of Sydney, also claiming the title as the first building to have been built on the shoreline of The Rocks area.
